Title: 5830s at TigerDirect for $99.99 Post by: bob777fred on June 06, 2011, 06:22:48 PM Figured this was worth mentioning - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=365456&CatId=3669
$99.99 after Mail in Rebate. $129.99 before hand, but if you can stand to wait for the money to come back, it's still $60 in the end off. Title: Re: 5830s at TigerDirect for $99.99 Post by: Shuffle on June 06, 2011, 06:25:17 PM nice find
Title: Re: 5830s at TigerDirect for $99.99 Post by: AngelusWebDesign on June 06, 2011, 06:36:09 PM Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I have (2) 6870 cards -- a Sapphire and an XFX -- and the XFX doesn't overclock as high, runs hotter, and the fan is MUCH, much louder. You can hear it over everything else in your room. There are many threads on the 'Net about how to cool them -- mostly desperation. I re-applied arctic silver paste which helped a BIT, but it's only 5 degrees cooler. The fan is still loud. I borderline regret I bought it.
With what I know today, I'd pay $20 or even $30 more for an equivalent Sapphire card over an XFX one. Just my personal experience. Is the offer available for Europeans, or is it US-only? EDIT: The shipment cost to Sweden is $90. Totally not worth it. I'll have 1/3 Sapphire and 2/3 XFX in my next setup. I'll keep any eye out for cooling issues with these cards. XFX is a crappy brand, and their cards don't overclock very much. They also feel much cheaper in quality, and from what I've heard, perform worse.

If you run rigs away from home, great. If not, they are extremely loud. They are louder than 4 other sapphire 5830's combined. Title: Re: 5830s at TigerDirect for $99.99 Post by: russelljohnson on June 06, 2011, 07:39:12 PM I don't get why you guys post these deals here. This is not a deal website. And HD58xx are running rare. If you know where you can find them in stock, keep it to yourself. We don't need the new miners to be buying up all the hardware.
