Title: Thinking of reinstalling the Bitcoin client Post by: sequence on June 06, 2011, 06:46:39 PM Will I lose my wallet if I reinstall? I have Bitcoins waiting to be transferred to my client but It seems my Bitcoin client is stuck and not downloading blocks. Will my Bitcoins not recognize my address once I delete and reinstall? Thanks for your help!

Title: Re: Thinking of reinstalling the Bitcoin client Post by: John Kirk on June 06, 2011, 06:54:13 PM Your bitcoin client is probably "stuck" because it is having difficulty connecting to the IRC channel where it finds other clients it can connect to in the network. There has been so much interest in bitcoin lately that it can take an hour or more to establish some solid connections, and then another couple of hours to download blocks. So, I would recommend you just be patient.

Somehow I can't find my wallet.dat file now? Looked for hidden files and still no luck. Will my bitcoins eventually come to me or have they been lost by now?
