So, in truth, 52%, the majority, believe Bitcoin will be worth LESS than $500 by 2016?

So? It's easy to bet on the current price.

where is the source of this, and what users? how big is the sample? and anyway what they believe is not what will happen as usual

500 is a joke honestly, i would be very surprised if by the halving we are still at a mere 500 in price

I think that if it's not at $500 it will be at a higher number

A new CoinDesk poll has found that 48% of respondents believe that bitcoin will end the year valued at more than 500$

Some 38.7% of bitcoin enthusiasts think the digital currency's price will end 2015 at or near its current levels, with 4,370 of the 11,293 respondents predicting that bitcoin would be valued at between 351$–500$ by this time.

Thirty-three percent of those surveyed think that the digital currency's price would rise to 501$–1,000$ by 31st December, 2015. This was followed by the the 201$–350$ category, which received 10.6% of the votes.

I'm not so sure anymore about any massive growth of price above 500 $. For me it would be good to remain like this for some time. Steady growth is much better then some artificial pump and dump. We hit 500 $ not that long time ago and felt on 300 $. I read a lot, but in some moment I have no idea why its going up or down, when will it stop. And by reading other people comments I didn`t saw that anyone have so good prediction skills with bitcoin.

Just let them speculate. Those believers are really optimistic even they don't have basis or what.

Like anyone said, different scenarios can happen during 2016. Below or over $500.

If I will based my answer today based on the looks of the current volumes, yes bitcoin will be worth over $500 in 2016 (it's 365 days) but of course today's rally can't lasts longer so the answer to that question is based on being an optimistic.

Though I'm not over-enthusiastic about the future of Bitcoin, I'd say a price over $500 in 2016 is likely. Looks like we've initiated an uptrend again, and even without block-halving, the barrier of $500 being broken only seem a matter of time (already briefly happened roughly three weeks ago on at least one exchange)

i fully 100% believe bitcoin will be worth more than $500 by 2016. i even think we can see $600 easily by 2016 after the block halving.

I am convinced

that by the next halving we will surpass the last ath, with a grater stable price, withotut he return to 230 like it happened in the past

Maybe it is that 52% believe that Bitcoin will be worth more than $1000. I mean who knows right?! ;)
Next year will be a very interesting one that is for sure.

I think that people are overly pessimistic with this pool! Only 48% is not too much in my opinion! I expect that the price will be much higher than $500 come this time next year. With all of the development and the upcoming halving of course.

By 2016? That means before Jan. 1st, 2016?
I am definitely with majority. We will stay below $500 in 2015. No reasons for the price to rise to that level.
We will see more impact of the halving in the spring next year, the earliest. By then, there will be also some more fundamental reasons to fire the next leg up.

This doesn't do anything, people always believe the price will be ''x'' times higher than what it is. You can search through the forum to see what I'm talking about, however this general belief never affects the price at all because people with a lot of money (whales) are the ones moving the price.

Of course bitcoin will touch $500 in 2016, does anyone here actually think we've seen the high for the next year?! if it doesn't, with the halving mid year, I think bitcoin is dead - and what are the odds of that?
