Hi everyone, just wanted to get your opinion about bitcoin wallets.

Which wallet do you think is best with the best features? It could be in terms of security? Stability? Ease of use? My personal opinion is that the best combination is Blockchain.info as a daily hot wallet and a Paper Wallet for long term cold storage. If i had to choose a proper wallet i would choose Mycelium.

What does everyone think?

Tried blockchain.info, greenaddress and mycelium. Mycelium by a country mile for me. Blockchain.info has its well known issues. There's just something I didn't like about greenaddress. Mycelium gets the job done very smoothly.

Definitely Mycelium. Blockchain.info has too many bugs and security issues. I use Coinbase for my online wallet.

Blockchain does have a lot of issues. It has had some downtime recently where the CDNs give an error message. It is having some really bad downtime.

I really hope that its security is top notch, as if it did lose a large amount of coins there would be a serious uproar from the community just after Mtgox ran away with many many coins.

But i still find blockchain very very easy to use, that has plenty of features eg paper wallet, signed messages.

Do you think there are any others that can compete with it in this regard and ease of use and most features?

If you're looking for a good mobile wallet to use, I personally love using breadwallet. The main selling point for me is that it is able to connect directly to the blockchain and can see in real time how many peers are confirming your transactions and when exactly if it's confirmed.  If you think that a transaction has been lost, you can always rescan the blockchain on their, which makes me feel a little bit more secure when transacting money around.  Plus it allows finger print scanning to quickly access your wallet, which is always a plus too.

Why would you choose breadwallet over mycelium? does it have any extra features that make it much better?

I've never personally used Mycelium, though I hear it gives you access to your private keys which you can write on a piece of paper and store away; just like with breadwallet... but I'm not quite sure if Mycelium connects directly with the blockchain, which is why I've always stuck with breadwallet.  It's just my personal preference, I've heard a lot of users on this forum like Mycelium too; I think both are very good mobile wallets, I just tend to stick with bread because of the "if it isn't broke, you might as well not fix it" mentality I've got going on.

My favorite is Electrum. I like Electrum for a few reasons. The private keys are encrypted and you can also import private keys into Electrum from other bitcoin clients. You can use cold storage with it along with the fact you can recover your wallet with seed words.Electrum servers are also decentralized so there is no downtime with your wallet. The only thing missing is I wish it translated current prices of the bitcoins currently held in your ballet to whatever currency. I like real time information and knowing what my wallet is worth.

i think wallet who have the best features is blockchain.info maybe some of people have an issue when use this wallet but i had never got that and i'm still trust this wallet also use it until today

Mycelium uses a few centralised servers to get the information from. They can trick you into accepting a double spend. Last time I saw, they have 3 nodes. This isn't a huge security issue since wallets like blockchain.info, CoinBase, Greenaddress.it all uses central validation. I don't particularly trust biometric authentication. After all, people have exploited iPhone's fingerprint sensor and people can knock you out to steal your Bitcoins.

My vote would go Electrum. It has a cold storage spending feature and is relatively decentralised since you can select your own server to trust. The Hierarchical Deterministic seeds is a huge plus since users only need to make one and only backup to be able to recover the coins. Clients like Bitcoin Core requires backups every 100 transactions.

I use an online wallet for much of my transacting but I still hold fast to my full node Bitcoin Core which is where I store my coin.  I haven't tried any of the other wallets mentioned in the poll because there has never been a need to experiment with anything other than my core wallet; it has served me well.

Airbitz is the best.
Mycellium is great, too.
None of the desktop walets are as good, though Electrum is my favorite desktop wallet.

As for the poll, perhaps all of the major wallets should be added rather than the random assortment. "other" has the most votes.

armory is the most secure, and the most complete, unless i'm missing something, but for now core is everything that i need, i can secure my coins in another easy way without complex or fancy thing

and i don't have problem synching at all or download the blockchain

I would say Armory and then Bitcoin Core, but these two are very resource hungry! For most of the other average users, Electrum and Multibit are more than enough!

I chose Armory. It's a very advanced wallet, with good developers and a track record of allowing to be deployed easily on safe environments and being quite stable. It works with core and extends it's functionality all while having a nice graphical interface that helps more novice users learn, become more expert and setup their Bitcoin wallets in the right way.

I personally prefer Electrum for my personal usage - simply because I can't keep the whole blockchain (data constraints) and it has served me well over the past few years. I've never used Mycelium - but if you were able to have the blockchain I'd recommend Core or Armory as they are incredibly stable.

Just to name two that would be enough for me.

They had problems which lead to compromised private keys. Luckily the person that found the flaw did return all coins (800 BTC)[1].

They had significant problems with the last malleability attack, showing completly wrong balances (double on incoming TX, negative on outgoing TX)

some of my friend lost their btc on blockchain , its around 0.1-0.5 , and probably because they'd click on scam or phising site and fill in the data there, to prevent against this just enable 2 factor authentication

I use coinbase as my wallet online and a seperate local wallet.

Coinbase is really easy to use and user friendly.

I have not used electrum at all. It sounds like it has a lot of good features. I did not know about the decentralized feature of this wallet and would really have to check it out. It does sound more secure. Also the backup feature does seem really interesting, i will have to check it out

I found armory very resource hungry as well, Does it not require you to download the whole blockchain? I generally like lightweight wallets, preferably something that can be used on your mobile device.

If you have a lot of storage i think armory is good for you, maybe if you are a developer?

Blockchain.info is not really that secure. You should make sure that you do not keep the bulk of you bitcoins there as they have had some issues in the past. Also i personally have had a few error messages when accessing the website, but i think this downtime is due to too much traffic where the CDN can not cope.

It is OK for a quick and easy set up of an online wallet, but you should always have the bulk of your coins offline preferable in a paper wallet.

In terms if the POLL it looks like Mycelium and Armory are the top choices so far, but my vote still goes to myelium, i may switch over to electrum as there does seem to be extra features that look quite promising.

I'm happy with Blockchain.info as my main wallet but I also have 3 different others.

I keep 4 different wallets in total.

I mainly use coinbase as my online wallet but I might try something else and look into some of these you guys suggested.

I like to keep my mind open and look into different options.

Actually with GreenAddress you have the option to validate via SPV on GreenBits (on by default) and via Electrum servers on the Chrome or Cordova apps (on by default). With GreenBits you can even connect to your own node, including via Tor Onion bitcoin nodes

Your list has not the name of the best in all wallet. Is a web one and its name is Coinbase. I don't know if has leave this wallet out intentionally (because it is impossible that you have not hears about that) or for another aim. But below I will give some data who make it the only in its kind.

I have a couple of wallets between coinsbase and blockchain and of course an offline wallet.

If you have some bitcoins I'd highly suggest to get an offline wallet.

I've only used coinbase so far, there's not much on it but I haven't had any issues with it so far.

I'm pretty satisfied, it's really easy to use and user friendly for people who are new to bitcoin.

Other.. Multibit

Bitcoin Core has the best features for me. I only need to be able to send and receive transactions, and also signing messages. That for me is all I need.

We're talking about Bitcoin here, you can charge back on paypal. For blockchain.info, 2FA may work what if they use the login information to attempt a log in immediately after you keyed it in? Desktop wallets are equally vulnerable if the user don't verify the signature of the program. If you are connecting to the download/wallet server with unsecured WIFI, you can be vulnerable if the attacker uses SSL strip and if your browser/website doesn't protect you from such attacks.

I love blockchain.info as they are easy to use and also i think with almost every feature needed for a bitcoin wallet like cold storage address, sign and verify message etc. I am only using this one till now.

I think Mycelium is the best, because it's very simple and easy to use on my smartphone. And also because some Bitcoin wallet is not compatible with my phone :D
And I also like Blockchain.info, but this wallet is too mainstream for me :)

Go to https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started. Pick choose your wallet and then look at the different wallets for different platforms. Airbitz is under Mobile, Android and iOS.

As far as I know Bitcoin Core (or XT) are the only wallets that do not relly on some 3rd parties so if you are serious about the whole crypto deal you should realy not look into any other wallets.

I have tried Blockchain, Electrum, Mycelium and Armory but they all have a same risk of losing your keys whenever a device is factory restored. And due to my forgetful nature I may also forget where I hid their corresponding backup keys.

Thus to prevent complications, I ordered a Ledger Wallet (https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/3-ledger-hw-1) where one can securely initiate and validate a transaction either with the "second factor authentication card" or by "smartphone pairing".

In any case my device needs a reset, I can easily import my previous wallet just by entering a set of passphrase. (provided during initial setup)

Moreover if someone steals that ledger he can't do anything since he'll try brute forcing the password and right after 3rd attempt the wallet will erase every keys that were associated before.

Now isn't that secure enough? ;)

I forgot to mention that I also use a Trezor, which is a hardware wallet like the Ledger Nano. I definitely recommend it for security -- it can't be hacked. It interfaces to several software wallets including Mycelium and Electrum. The Ledger wallet is cheaper than the Trezor because the security is less convenient.

Even the best technically advanced wallet is not good when you can't manage your own coins. If you did not copy your keys, if you don't have a good password, or your storage machine will be compromised directly.
Other that that is matter of personal preference (full blockchain vs simplified validation wallets) etc.

Only Bitcoin Core is enough for all my needs. Why would I use another wallet? Why would I use a 3rd party application? Why would I use an online wallet? I'm not out of my mind.

Other wallets have better features for daily users. Bitcoin Core occupies too much space and you cannot use the same wallet simultaneously since they generate a different keypool after the keypool from backup finishes. It is not portable at all. With HD wallets, you can easily use a seed to recover your coins and avoid doing multiple backups time after time. For a daily user, SPV HD clients are much more of a better choice.

Mycelium yes! I voted for mycelium. Its easy to use but not easy to cracked down. And fast to sync.

I agree with you on the mycelium part, I also voted mycelium 'cause of its great feature. I also like the fact that its on my mobile phone (android) and I can bring it anywhere I go. They have added usd accounts and I find it interesting, I am skeptical about it though. Overall, best wallet for me so far 'cause I used it on a daily basis and never encounteree big issues so far.

I'm using coinbase more than blockchain, I haven't had any issues with neither but I just prefer coinbase better

mm i dont know whats the best, but for me the bitcoin-core is pretty good and i will continue using it since is the "official".

with one have the best features? hard to said, but Armory seems to be a pretty good candidate, at least IMHO, is a little bit hard to use because of that, but have lot of features that others havent.

I also have Core running in another computer that is always on, mostly to help the network

for most users, it doesn't make that much difference which one of the main wallets you use

i would suggesst you to use Coinbase. It is quite secure and they are not having any issues of scams, bugs or thefts at the moment. But blockchain does have some of these nasty stufff and it may have an adverse effect.

I registered a GreenAddress account yesterday and I am really liking it so far. The best features to me are the option for a quick login from any device with a PIN number if you are in a hurry and the possibility to access your funds elsewhere if GreenAddress service happens to be offline at the moment. So my vote goes to GreenAddress.

many people who think that a third party is quite risky though I use blockchain but they provide full access to the wallet,
by providing the private key and backup wallet.

Im also using blockchain as well and so far im its easy to use there there is a 2FA that you can use so that you wallet wont be hacked by anyone.

i'm use blockchain because not look for features but because their simply, easy to use and what like armansolis593 said when we want more security system we can activate 2FA with authy or sms verification. 

The best wallet i think is bread  Wallet. It only available for IOS devices like Iphone hence it is provided with extra security.
In Web Wallet, Xapo is the best and coin base is on number two. However i haven't heard anything good about Coin base.

This is also what i like in blockchain the 2FA which really help a lot since when ever i log in i also use my mobile to gain access to my account.

I voted for mycellium it's the current wallet I use and it's wonderful. Having multiple wallets are amazing. Signing messages are simple as well. The ui is great and clean. I used mycellium when I first started and never turned back.

i vote electrum,but i never try that wallet,just  knwoing from some people that electru is very good. and i have 2 more list,that was Coinbase and Multibit. coinbase is good,i'm never have problem with this wallet since use it on 2014.

I use Bitcoin Core and Blockchain.info for my online spends etc. Blockchain.info is a fairly reliable service as far as online exchanges go

I too, I'm using bitcoin core.. It is easier to use this wallet...Though synching with the network sucks, atleast when it is up to date, it is easier to use...I haven't tried other wallets except for a local one.. So far it is the best..

Blockchain.info user as well. I like I dont need to install any software, super easy to use even for non technical users. Blockchain.info doing good job for Bitcoin adoption this way, reliable + easy to use.

i just think blockchain still the best choice,but i'm not sure if in future blockchain will stay the best,xapo,coinbase,mycelium and multibit have good feature to become better and the best.

I like electrum it's my desktop wallet and on mobile i use mycelium, both the wallets have very good security and features.

I go with Armory since I have been using it since the start and have not had any issues what so ever with using it. Also I feel very secure in using it. It is Armory after all, like armor for your bitcoins  ;)

I would still stick to blockchain.info as far as there ain't any problems with security of our wallets, else Core is better...
Not using Core as it takes lots of space on my lappy, and I don't want to allocate too much of my space...
For light transactions, I always use Multibit...

You should remember this : if you do not own the private keys, then you don't have any bitcoin. That's why I'll go for Electrum, the best so far for me, with great functions of watch-only wallet for a maximum security.

I got surprised when I didn't see xapo name in the poll, I just chose others, as My preferred wallet not listed. I think best wallet with best features is xapo, I didn't used desktop wallets yet. I only used blockchain, coinbase and xapo, and xapo is best in them.

currently i am only with okpay bitcoin wallet, and thinking to join one another , but first i will search for complete reviews when find some time.

I don't thing your choices are healthy ones; You are using all online cloud wallets , so you expand your trust circle and rely on third party services to hold your valuables (sounds a lot like banks, doesnt it)
And what if/when some of them go down ? What with your coins ? Better explore some of the desktop or hardware wallets, unless you have just some tiny amounts.

My honest opinion will say bitcoin core, but if you are worried that it takes up too much space, then blockchain.info. If you are scared of the internet, use Electrum.

Right now I use a Ledger wallet. It's basically a cheap and reliable alternative to a Trezor.

Make circle one of the choices. You can transfer your BTC straight as USD immediately to your bank account, but of course, they find out your first name, last name, where you live, etc. If you're like me and you know you have nothing to hide, that's the benefits of circle.

yes bitcoin core so far is the best,with so many deeloper that keep developing bitcoin wallet,now has so many bitcoin wallet with better security.
