Title: Canadian Seling Btc Question
Post by: NestleAero on November 23, 2012, 10:28:25 PM
New to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself, I've been buying and selling bit-coins locally for about a year now on Local Bitcoins. I've honestly only ever done it as a hobby hoping that Btc price would explode. After a year I now have a large excess of coins and more people are selling me coins then purchasing so it has gotten to the point where I am turning down a large number of trades as its coming out of my own pocket to be constantly buying coins.

I was told by a fellow buyer/seller to come to the forum and I would be able to find reputable sellers to sell bitcoins too, I'm looking for cash options as I prefer anonymity.

Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated!

-Nestle

I am a seller in Spain, if you are looking to buy.

Well Spain is a little bit too far for us Canadians.....

Maybe you should read the topic title next time before posting!

The only problem I have with them is that they have huge fee when you sell bitcoins.... I mean 10$? really?

depends how many you're selling.

If you're selling $2k worth then $10 is nothing

If you're selling $50 worth sure it's tons.

Most of people will have a small amount to sell... Not everyone have a decent mining rig or have a couple of thousand $ to spend on bitcoins.

Why don't you adjust your price then and sell them locally, just the way you say you've been buying them?

Believe it or not I did think of that, but unfortunately all the sellers in my area will not buy over $500 worth, I don't feel like making 8 trips to sell coins especially if they don't always show up.

Appreciate all the feedback in this Topic, Andrew when you cash out using Cavitrex I'm assuming you have to give all your bank information correct? and it gets put in your account?

meaning PM Graet for information.  He is very active and informative.

There is still a lot of information missing even tough it is in beta.... isn't the purpose of beta testing?
I am simply pointing out an issue here and since there is not much information on there I am not sure I can trust this yet.

I am just being careful here...

If you have more than this I'd be happy to read on it but until that happen I don't trust it ;)

Canadian Bitcoins might only charge $2 for a TD Payee, but their rates are terrible. Right now you could sell up to 200BTC on Virtex for an average price of about $16.1/BTC, and if your 4 month volume is less than 100BTC you'd pay a 3% fee, so you'd make ~$15.62/BTC. Canadian Bitcoins is offering to buy BTC at $14.14 though, which is hugely less than Virtex. You only need to sell a few BTC to make up the difference between a $6 direct pay vs $2 direct pay, or $10 Interac vs $5 Interac.

Being on the East Coast of Canada - it's a bit far for cash transaction. I have good success with Interac from people that wants to buy. If the price is good, I certainly want to start with a small qty and see where it goes, so if you want to start the selling dialogue, message me and I give you my e-mail, we can go from there.
