Title: [ANN] Crypto Currency Live Chat Website Beta
Post by: CaptChadd on November 27, 2012, 02:36:59 PM
This is going to be a secure multi chat room website, with SLL protection and private password protected rooms included.

Designed as a chat platform for new users and to reduce the learning curve of IRC.

Anything else that you feel should be added then please let me know.

Thanks.

It is the GUI interface that I want to concentrate on.

With avatars, person IM's, Peron to person Voice chat, Video IM Chat and things like that.

A website with a full chat experience.

New user friendly experience and just generally more inviting.

Don't you like the idea at all?

The reason no one uses it is cause that it requires flash or java, make it all html, css, javascript and maybe people will use it. Right now I rather use my IRC client in chatting cause I know it is save, java or flash can be harmful.

My friends and I use a heavily modded version of this for our chat.

http://frug.github.com/AJAX-Chat/

(Let me know if you want to see the chat. Ours is private, so I'll have to set up authentication) Not to mention it's highly extensible.

No one has to reinvent chatting IRC works perfectly js

That's true, but my school blocks all non HTTP(S) or FTP ports, and ergo, prevents me from connection to IRC. All web based clients appear to be blocked, so it's possible this could provide an alternative for those who are unable to access IRC.

Port 53 is restricted to the approved DNS servers. The block is DNS based. Proxies rarely work, and tend to be extremely slow on said network. Only solutions I've found are a vpn or TOR. Regardless, I tend to center on BitcoinTalk or my friend's chat at school.
