Like you are trying out a new gambling website with a cool game of dice, slots, roulette or whatever, and you start with the additional demo credits, keep playing, and you are on a lucky strike and end up with 1+ BTC but since the credits are all fake because you are in demo mode, it's all for nothing. This happened to me once and felt pretty stupid. It's not only bad luck, but having good useless luck which is even kinda hilarious.

YES! Many times actually. I always try to find new and existing place to play, and I enjoy testing things up. In a process I end up with many test games. During many of them I have incredible luck streaks.
If I gather all virtual tokens I won during that test games I would be rich man already.

Yeah. Just last night I was testing out a new (to me) dice site, and found an exploit on it.

I turned the 400 satoshi faucet into 6.2 BTC by abusing the bug, then reported it to the owner (without trying to withdraw, of course).

I figured he would reset my balance since it was all cheated. He paused betting, fixed the bug, re-enabled betting, but I still had the 6.2 BTC balance.

So I thought I may as well see how high I could take it without cheating, now that the bug was fixed.

I got it up to 12 BTC, then lost it all. Just as my balance hit zero I got a PM from the owner:

  "Thanks for the bug report. As a thank you why don't you keep the coins you were able to win using the bug!"

Wow I felt stupid. I thought I was playing with "play money", since I was sure he would just wipe away my cheated balance.

He ended up tipping me 3 BTC anyway, so it's not all bad. :)

No, I never played in demo mode. I won big in real tho  ;D 1+ BTC is a lot, may have the same luck playing with real bitcoins.

Yup it happened so many times while trying on demo mode to new sites it is like to have fun there with some comfort without any fear to lose real there once i was up 3+ BTC from 0.05 ;D

Wow really nice story, good person. Most people would have not resisted the temptation and would have took the money and run. Too tempting when you are broke. Mind saying what site was that or at least what game mode was it? (as in slots, dice, cards..)

I had once a lot of luck with slots but I was in demo mode, needless to say it felt really frustrating.

Well, I think it's a small site, and so a withdrawal of 6 BTC would probably have been processed manually - so it's not even sure that I could have withdrawn anything.


Yeah, it probably helps that I'm not broke. The temptation to steal is likely a lot stronger when you can't afford to pay your bills.


It was https://alterdice.com/ - they just added CLAM to the list of altcoins they support. I only discovered their site when they posted on the CLAM thread saying they had added it.

Of course this happened to me few times. U are totally correct about stupid feeling after. And after that when i deposit something I lose everything and think that everything is one big scam.

It has happened quite a few times that i have won with free credits. Some of the most crazy wins come usually happen with them (i won a first roll 100 play credits on x9900) Now that was amazing lol, could have been a good roll on pretty much any amount :)

It happened many times to me to, but i wouldn't say i feel stupid over it; there's a large difference when you know you're playing with real money,
and when you're playing with free credits (there's no real rush with freebies), so i don't think it's accurate to think you would won if you knew that you actually
played with real money. And as an added bonus, atleast you can test out methods of playing w/o the risk as well.

quite it will happened because the site owners have designed the site like that that if you play with free credits you will win a big ones then it will tempt you to play with deposit and in some bets you will win after that you will start loosing and end up in loss. this has happened me also a lot. once i was introdued to a new casino site by my friend as he wanted referrals i join under his referral and earned nearly $100k but as they asked for deposit i done that and start to play but it ended up full loss then after i stoped to play in casino and with free money never as it is waste of time.

I did many times and something tells me it's an strategy of the casino hehe. On the other hand it never enticed me to play actual money if it happened that way because I felt like I already had my lucky shot.

Awesome that you got 3BTC in the end(got to know about it from your feedback in the afternoon) , but you sure he wasn't trolling you by telling you could keep it right when you lost it? Lol

It also occasionally happens to me, but I consider normal. adrenaline mode demo  was less, because we know  :)

haha when i have time i will do that to try the games, but one of my friend who works in a fiat casino told that the slots can get any result if you wanna, so they can set very high expected return like over 100% to lure players, and when the players play the money mode, the expected return turns into 95% or lower, very shady, so i won't trust slots any more.

Nice memory dooglus. I never win anything big because probably I don't play demos a lot. They usually let you win because they have to encourage you to deposit money to the site. Human psychology, when you win with free money you think you can win with real money, too. In reality %99 times you end up losing your whole balance.

I'm sure its one thing that every player feels, casinos (or websites) want that you play on its site, they give you free credits on test mode and if you win easy you will want to try with your coins. I don't know if they change the odds, or only its our feeling, but i won more times with test mode than playing with real money.

I never play any demo mode waste of time and don't like it to waste mine time. Also fake giveaway internet is full of this crap.

This is the story of my life ! Demo mode is like gateway to start gambling at any site.Demo mode attracts me to try the game and I actually end up winning which makes me want to put in more coins.As I do that I can only see them getting lower and lower until I hit the jackpot.But seriously I deposit the money and then try a demo mode just to get tips on how exactly to bet but when I hit play and win huge in demo I scratch my head thinking why didn't I just put the money and play.

Yes but it goes the same way the other way around. Ever lose something and in demo and be glad it wasn't with real actual money.

I did wonder that, but I lost it all very quickly, and got the email notification of the PM exactly as I lost my last couple of BTC.

I think it was just a coincidence.

Yeah the conspiracy theorist in my also thinks sometimes that the demo mode in some sites may be rigged, because im always so lucky in demo mode, I start with a small amount like 0.05, and I keep doing progressive wins and sometimes end up with half a BTC, or even an entire BTC. Then I put the real money in and I lose it in a couple of spins.

Nope. I have never won anything big with play money, as I would only play a few bets using play money to test a new site's functionality (mainly to check the provably fair feature) and I would stop after testing. It would be extremely extremely unlikely for me to get a huge win in just a few bets.

I have never tried playing in demo mode, it is better to spend time on real thing and not wasting luck in demo mode.  ;D

That happend to me too. Not on a particular betting site, but with a trading platform called plus50. I got a demo account with about 10k $. Invested in serveral companies of which the pricr has dropped very fast in a short time. Days after, the companies rised again and the 10k I invested went almost up to 25k - in demo money...

i have been same experience such you playing blackjack and slot machines with demo mode and i was lucky because won more than 2 btc
but unfortunately it does not happen to me if i do a gamble with my real money

this happened to me several times i turned my 1000 satoshi
into 345mbtc and still keep playing until i lost it all the weird
part was, i was regretting losing all the mbtc i got even though
its only a trial. this kinf of feeling happen every time i play and
gambling and lost eve if its only a trial.

luckily for me i always lose in Demo mode so i don't feel what you are feeling  :D :D

Never felt stupid about that, because they're making you to feel stupid and gamble real money.
Demo, fake money gambling etc these are all fixed before playing to get attention.

I have never done real forex trading but I remember back in the day when tesla was being rumored to be a big game changer.. of course I wasn't sure so I thought okay, let's play a game, im going to buy this thing in demo mode just to have a laugh. And the thing exploded. I could have made some decent gains but I was using monopoly money. That's life.

I never felt stupid playing in demo mode because i bet insane amount that won't be possible to bet in real lol

Yes I have won something good, but it was fake.
In real world or real game I will just lose all my money and I wish that I can win a big jackpot.

I played dice once and set the bet to something extremely low like 0.00001. Later I managed to multiple the starting cash many times and then I thought how rich i would've been had I bet some real cash. You never know  ;)

Yep! That happened a few times. Never felt stupid however, because of I've always considered such demo gains as bait :).

I thought that too (bolded part). They make you think you can win easily then as soon as you deposit & play with real money your luck magically seems to run out ;)

Not if the demo mode also has a provably fair feature, which a lot of casinos have. Besides, demo mode is for players who would like to get into the casino but would like to test it out first, and if there's no provably fair feature in the demo mode... who'd use it? They really can't do that; nice guess though. :)

I went 1 BTC yesterday in the slots starting with 200 credits, i played today again in the same session and went from 1 btc to 0 BTC.. lol. Now im not too sad about playing on demo.

haha well i win before in demo from $10 to $1000 dollars. but that is after like 30-40 tries and it is really very easy to reach that. i dont think i can keep double up if it is real cash.

Ahh I haven't, I've won and lost as much as I've done with by playing the actual gamble and not a demo.
I can understand how much that would hurt though, you could've might as well been gambling.

Lol yes many many times. But sometimes I do feel like I've been tricked in the demo. Thinking that I will win when I play with actual money/bitcoins, since I've won a bunch playing the demo.

Well no, because is just a demo I like winning even is not real.
I use demo to learn more about the gambling.
So yeah I feel not stupid playing with a demo game and winning.

I have but I feel like every time this happens, the site does it on purpose just so I would start to gamble with my bitcoins.
But that's what the demo is for though, to try it out before you actually start to gamble for real. I think it's a nice asset to these sites.

Of course I felt stupid that I won something big and is just a demo.
In other side you can learn about the game and what you did wrong or good.
So its just a win win for me.

I have won some good amounts while playing demo. I don't feel stupid though. There's a reason why they got demo's on their site. To try it out and not start wasting your money by losing it all.
I don't mind this at all though, doesn't really bother me.

Demo? Hmm I haven't play with gambling demo, but if I won something like jackpot than yes I will feel stupid.

Yes, but I also lose big in demo mode and was relived that was only demo, so I think it doesn't matter

because when i play with real money i kind of lose every time,

so when i am out money i try demo version and i kind of win big time

but demo version is good for someone that like gambling but want to stay out of it because it will not spend any of the gambler's money

Yes. It's not at all matter whether we are winning or loosing in demo mode of gambling.
Many sites do offer this kind of 'play for fun only' option. But I do find this demo mode as a practice and get familiar of gambling environment. I use demo games for practicing.

I won't feel stupid even if I win something big. There is no emotion when you are playing in demo unit and you can lose all your demo money. If you are talking about your btc, it hurts even to lose a small amount.

I used to have a lot of fake play chips on Zynga poker and Poker Stars  ;D Now if that was real money lol

Lol no there's a reason why there's a demo option available, to try it out and if you get lucky and win big, I would only think that they are trying to lure you in to deposit some bitcoins on their site. I wouldn't feel stupid over something like this.

There's no need to feel stupid about it though. Personally for me, I've lost just as much as I won by playing a demo, never won anything big so not too worried about it.

I'm sure some casinos, mostly fiat casinos are sort of cheating, when you use play money your chances are higher or they automatically let you win just to make you deposit real money later, this is harder with bitcoins because of the provably fair systems but still, probably some casinos do that.

Yep I know How it feels! I have opened a Forex trading account and went along with the practice demo with an excellent performance. Needless to say, when I funded my account things started to turn...

In demo mode is simple to make money,you have a big amount of money to risk on small odds.
In this way you can make some money with small and sure odds,but if you lose ,you will lose big money:)

it is possible that the owner of the gambling site made more people win in the demo mode so they try in real mode and loose.

well im not even lucky enough to win anything in demo mode though once there was a game that demo was way more easier than the actual game so i won a bit then and lost real money on game

I doubt it is the case, as playmoney mode is there for new users to check and test the site. Almost all of the bitcoin gambling sites are provably fair, and if they have a freemoney mode it has to be provably fair as well, or otherwise it would just scare off new users IMO.

I bet that sites are rigged when you bet 0 or bet in demo mode lol. I hit 2 9900x rolls in the space of 100 rolls at Primedice when I'm betting 0. I could have made at least a BTC lol.

i think so because with win lot of bitcoin in demo mode people will curious and will try with the real money even though sometimes the result also will disappointed

Yes. Not on bitcoin dices though, on CSGOdices. Just for laughs, I used a 0 base bet, with a 0.1% chance of winning, and I spammed Hi. And guess what? I won four times in a row. I don't know might be rigged just to make me bet with real money, but it's provably fair...

Well, I am not going to lie that I had not the same feeling in the past. But the is not the case for reputable services with clear rules and provably fair system.
If you have feeling that your bets in free mode are more consistent wins it is probably due to kind of gambler's fallacy. There shound't be any difference between stardard and demo modes.

I'm trying to convince myself that too.

But TBH during PD's happy hours I just couldn't even make myself the minimum tip amount - which was 0.0005. The faucet was around 0.0002 and I tried around 10 times with no success.

I think I rolled once x1000 on Primedice using their faucet like betting some satoshis per roll and felt stupid in the end for not putting in more lol

I usually never try any site in demo mode but tried with free money from sites but until now I never win any big money from any gambling sites. But only recently from directbet casino site I got around 40k dogecoins free and that is the highest so for from any free give-aways.

if you increase the amount of coins you bid you also reduce the chances you have of winning the roll.

Never played in demo mode because its no use of playing in demo mode

Honestly, I feel like this is the case. This happened all the time on Bovada. I would crush the play mode. Double, triple the roll. But as soon as I switched to Real Money I would get bad beat after bad beat and be bust within minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the edge could be changed with these online Casinos.

Demo mode always be like that, people feel they are rigged when play on demo mode and win it easily, but when play real money it got busted easily.
The thing that make it different is you play without pressure on demo mode and so many pressure when you play on real money.

People play more free and dont afraid to take risks in demo mode. Thats why most of the time they win there.
When they play on real money, there is always a fear and eventually they lose...

Well I have a played in a demo and is good to learn. If you don't know how to play the games in gambling.
Yes I have won something, but I know is demo so I don't feel that stupid.

Played a lot of demo in satoshibet and I thought I was winning btc. When I took a second look at my credits, it was set on the demo tokens and not my actual bitcoin balance. It was fun to see a green streak, but learning that you only used test credits is kinda frustrating.

I have won big in a demo but didn't feel stupid. These things are made to lure you in, they want you to believe that you're able to win this big with actual bitcoins.

Yes I was winning in a free to play (poker game) I just won a lot.
But it was not a real money so I just feel so stupid.

Yeah i have had this happen quite a few times. The thing is when playing with victious money you take a bigger gamble and your win amount increases. So if you win you win more then normally. IT is very handy though to learn the game and see if you understand the rules.

I see it is a learning time. You don't lose, but you win experience.

Experience hardly helps me in gambling. I find everyday as different and gambling teaches me a new lessons always. The demo accounts are mostly profitable for me. But when I apply the same strategy I never find same type of results.

Yes only experience you can make with demo accounts not a way of making your luck. Luck will help you in making profits and experience may help you to avoid losses. Any way I find demo accounts are useful to learn about some particular games and house rules.

when you are playing in a demo mode then why are you feeling stupid. you must understand the fact.

Im pretty sure many places put the difficulty on easy mode with fake money so you think you going to do well but actually not so much. Cunning and not so honest though. I'm sure many people other than myself had this going through their head the first time they used the fake or play money.

I have a really funny story about something like that. It wasn't in demo mode but when I was playing slots just for shits and gigs onlinr one time with just spare money I had to make my number whole, I HIT THE JACKPOT of like 12 btc or something. But I didn't bet the min limit to be elegible for it -_-

All most every one will start game with this type of Demo games only yes i think many people get fooled but the real game and demo games are bit different we not not feel anything when we are playing with free credit but if we play with real coins if it is very low also something strange feeling happening in our inside it happened me. But this is basic step to learn gambling so here no need to feel stupid.
