Title: ASIC came true? Post by: noob_jul11 on November 28, 2012, 02:46:41 PM I have been away from the forum for some time now; I search for ASIC (is it ASIC - I meant Butterfly Labs products and the like ) and none seem to have updated status. With BTC halving in matter of an hour or so, I was wondering if ASIC products ever came online?

Post by: DannyHamilton on November 28, 2012, 02:49:23 PM From what I've heard, Butterfly Labs has not yet shipped any ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Chip) bitcoin devices. That last rumor I heard was that they are hoping to start shipping in January. My information might be outdated though, I don't keep a very close watch on that.

I like to think of my work as investing in the infrastructure and future of the currency as opposed to a true revenue generator if that makes sense.

Prototype Jalapenos were sent to bloggers and the like and I know people who received email from BFL that their product is about to be shipped.
