Title: [2015-12-10] Was the latest Bitcoin revelation actually an extortion scheme?
Post by: Sturgeon on December 11, 2015, 12:45:09 AM
Earlier this week, Wired and Gizmodo dropped two bombshell reports putting forward a previously unknown figure as the possible founder of Bitcoin. The reports examined a man named Craig Steven Wright, a previously unknown businessman from Australia who had appeared at a few cryptocurrency conferences. Could this be the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto, hidden from the public eye for seven years?

In the days that followed, Wright himself has been arrested by Australian tax authorities, and a number of inconsistencies have appeared in the evidence linking him to the creation of Bitcoin. As Wired initially stated, many of the blog posts pointing to Wright's role in launching Bitcoin were edited as recently as 2014. Motherboard has also revealed strong evidence that Wright's encryption keys were intentionally altered to appear as if they dated back to the early days of Bitcoin. But while it seems likely that the evidence was faked, we still know very little about why it was faked, and what motivated the leaker in the first place. What we do know suggests it may have been far more complicated than a simple hoax.

I think Dr Wright is not the Satoshi, the inventor of bitcoin. These two people have different personality. Satoshi is very modest.

It more and more seems to head in the direction that Mr. Wright is nothing more than a scam artist.
It also seems that his supercomputer doesn't exist. This whole story is a big joke and we will have to deal with it for several more weeks.
Regarding his problems with ATO and the potential tax fraud, the media will put Bitcoin in the centre for that and say as long as possible that he is/might be satoshi or an early contributor or participant. But to be honest I give a sh** as long as rice keeps rising as it's doint right now. ;D
