Title: What's wrong with Genesis Mining?
Post by: vilain on December 12, 2015, 05:32:19 PM
Hello there,

Been trying to access for a few hours and get the error:

www.genesis-mining.com - Connection failed
Error code 20
The proxy failed to connect to the web server, due to TCP connection timeout.

anyone having the same issue?

might it be a DDoS attack?

It never happened before with GM since I bought hashing power a few months ago.

The site is working for me. I have no part in it though. I know many people think they are legit but I never heard anyone had any profit from  a cloud mining. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones? Could you share your experience here?

It has been working fine for me all throughout the day, so I think it must have been something at your end.
Now that I think about it, I've never experienced any downtime with Genesis-Mining, and I've been a customer for about a year now.

the problem which you are telling which i highlighted is from your computer and your internet connection problem, not related to site, as i also just click the link from your message and the site opened up without any problem.

you are customer for about a year now, can you share your profit calculation and experience with this site. as i am also interested in joining mining site

Site will go down now and then cos of DDos attacks. During my time with GM its happened a few times.

If you notice sometimes they change the login page address to also try and get around the issue.

It will not be the first time or the last time they will get attacked.

Hashnest was being attacked earlier today (13 Dec 2015) as well, Bitcoin price goes up and people target mining sites and exchanges to see if they can break in and steal coins.

Postive thing about GM though is that they do not store your daily payouts on online wallets and get you to withdraw it like other companies do as GM pay out each day so if someone did hack in and steal coins, not really that much to try and take tbh.

Even though it would be quite a few Bitcoins, they could probably easily cover that amount and unlike others not run away and say..Ooops sorry. we lost so many Bitcoins now that we will have to close down ...Bye! etc.

It went back online a few hours afters. I agree with what you said above: their system is very secure.

What has been bothering me, though, is the incredible variance in payment times. I haven't received the payment from yesterday's mining day untill now, just for an example.

I would love some regularity with the payments...

What s wrong with them is not related to their website. The real problem lies in their products. There s NO CHANCE you can reach ROI with any of their products. This last Etherum option s the closest one but if u re gonna invest money in mining, why not buy Etherum now and not have any problem with it.

Someone's gotta mine those coins! LOL

but, seriously now, I think this "mining is not profitable" rule is BS. There are cases and cases.
