Title: Well, Hi There!
Post by: bash on December 01, 2012, 07:05:18 PM
Hi BCF,

It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm pretty new to Bitcoin, but I'm already hooked. I have a few labs of computers at my school at my disposal for mining, a pretty decent working knowledge of BC (always learning though), and I'm really trying to stay up to date with the latest mining gear. I'm not really in this to make money. But I think you're all on the forefront of something pretty big here. You'll see me around, I think.

Thanks for the awesome community.

Your friend,
Bash

I have a few labs of computers at my school at my disposal for mining,

You are allowed to use those for the purpose of converting the school's electricity into bitcoins for personal financial gain?   Have you gotten permission (in writing, to be safe).

As far as whether or not it is worth it even if you get permission is another topic.

Are you aware of the performance levels the ASIC mining hardware is being promised to deliver?

Yep, explained the whole thing to the administration and they're totally cool with it (surprised me, too).

When I say I'm trying to stay up to date with the latest mining gear, I mean it. Already put in an order from BFL a few days ago :D The labs were just a good way to get started, the gear from Butterfly Labs is what I intend to use mainly once it gets here.
