I remember something similar in the early days of the www, someone hooked a vending maching up the web and allowed people to buy soda's for some college kids (using paypal I think).

Reddit is getting bad and the bitcoin thread/board is well, full of people moaning about the block size most days...  Look at the bright side, if your post went up, your fish might end up sitting on a pile of fish food.  ;D

Great website but I don't see any fish in the tank lol

I look at the live stream for 5 minutes and still couldn't spot the fish in it. Do you mind taking a picture and posting it here so it would be clear? Honestly I don't think you needed some others people fund to feed the fish as I'm sure fish foods are not expensive however the cause of it it's nice so best of luck ;)

1mBTC for feeding a fish, that kinda funny and some kind of waste of money.
But what makes it better is, you use the money to send it to a donation. :)
You should add an option to adding a new fish by sending more Bitcoin ;)

I am also thinking on underwater streaming etc  8) -> so you actually see the feeding VERY good!
However, as the "users" have decreased significantly after the initialization post (last usage yesterday) i am not sure about it :P

actually i deleted the if(inc>=1mBTC) feed;
ATM you can send satoshies too -> i just wanted to prevent overfed in the first place :P

Very inventive and creative.  You may not know this but I am sure that you just sparked the idea of a slue of additional idea by people all over the place.  Anyone want to take abet until the next site like this pops up?

I think a domain can help you to let your project look more serious.

Make a blog entry detailing how you built it and then get it on twitter, facebook, instagram.

You can always try promoting your project via social media (facebook, twitter, etc)

I don't see any of these on your site.

By the way, your idea is really unique!  ;)

So this guy is make a streaming video on YouTube, in the video there's an aquarium with a fish that you can feed by sending a Bitcoin.
And he said that the donation is for buying a new bigger aquarium and an underwater camera :)

It seems like a nice and creative idea for a project, but as long as i haven't seen it,
it's hard to tell what to expect from it.

it's working fine now also it does not have many informations so that server go down on him i think maybe there is problem in the internet

obviously my raspi was not stable enough for livestream - now online again - hope it works now

Just fed it, but I can't seem to see clearly. :P Sometimes it turns out clear, but sometimes it lags and everything blurs out. I guess it's difficult to livestream. If it is possible, can you give a notification when the BTC is received and when the food is dropped in the tank? A recording function would be nice too! ;D

Awesome man :) I used to have a fish tank too and when I go for holidays the poor fish starve :( This makes me want to have one feeder like yours hehe. Just wondering, did you make that yourself, and how did you make it auto feed when the btc balance increase? Waiting to see the new fish!

yes there are MANY easy options to realize something like that:
if you want to make it very robust and with an arduino take something like that:

however, i switched to a raspberry pi - since it also is capable to stream videos. The quality is just related to your internet upload  :P

to the second question: i usually just check the balance on my phone - if nobody feed it - ill do it for my own (like the last 3 days  ;D ;D)
it is just the stream - that is not THAT stable (i think its related to my poor internet)

The only problem could be BTC transaction times. No one could want long BTC transaction times, which will be of course with BTC transaction fee 0.0001  ;)

well the idea looks great, but let me ask... what happens to the fish if nobody donates? will you leave it to die? That's the part I don't understand.
