Title: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 14, 2015, 09:29:06 PM The project BTC-Fish has been started:
https://btcfish.wordpress.com/ check it out - have fun 8) ;D Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: cloverme on December 14, 2015, 10:06:07 PM Very cool and inventive... do you have some kind of a governor on it to prevent overfeeding (I hope)?
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: cloverme on December 14, 2015, 10:26:34 PM well ;D atm i just take it out - if there is too much. i will ad a limitation if there are many useres - lets have a look :) btw: why i am NOT allowed to post it on reddit.... ??? :'( post was banned!? wtf reddit!? Pls somebody repost/distribute ;) I remember something similar in the early days of the www, someone hooked a vending maching up the web and allowed people to buy soda's for some college kids (using paypal I think). Reddit is getting bad and the bitcoin thread/board is well, full of people moaning about the block size most days... Look at the bright side, if your post went up, your fish might end up sitting on a pile of fish food. ;D Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 14, 2015, 10:53:08 PM YEAAAA ;D ;D ;D
Finally somebody tried it -> THX: aef3d0728dac85173d1639008be1dbce44a53d6c147e738669cc7bdbc6d39929 now i can go to bed!!! I feel like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqp8_ROAIJY IT WORKED 8) 8) 8)! Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: Firedude on December 15, 2015, 09:33:14 AM Great website but I don't see any fish in the tank lol
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: WENGER on December 15, 2015, 09:42:43 AM I look at the live stream for 5 minutes and still couldn't spot the fish in it. Do you mind taking a picture and posting it here so it would be clear? Honestly I don't think you needed some others people fund to feed the fish as I'm sure fish foods are not expensive however the cause of it it's nice so best of luck ;)
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: OgNasty on December 15, 2015, 10:00:08 AM Cool project.
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 15, 2015, 10:10:33 AM @WENGER - true - my window reflected quite horrible - now you should see the small fishes :) 8) ;D
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: anon_giraffe on December 15, 2015, 10:45:51 AM I have realllllllly shitty quality feed happening. I can't even see the fish tank.
Ok that's an exaggeration but it's close to true. But it's a great idea. If only I could see something worth looking at. Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 15, 2015, 10:52:37 AM this has to be related to apple or something.... (do you use an iphone or ipad?)
elsewhere it is possible to see it in HD :o Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: Xubu on December 15, 2015, 10:44:51 PM Its a funny prject IMO
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 15, 2015, 10:49:15 PM Its a funny prject IMO INDEED ;D ;D ;D ;D imagine a huge fishtank with different kinds of food 8) - the virtual fishtank -> thats the goal :DTitle: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: Jeremycoin on December 16, 2015, 03:13:39 AM 1mBTC for feeding a fish, that kinda funny and some kind of waste of money.
But what makes it better is, you use the money to send it to a donation. :) You should add an option to adding a new fish by sending more Bitcoin ;) Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: noel57 on December 16, 2015, 06:19:23 AM This is a nice project but why hosted on wordpress, i think this would have been better if OP setup everything on the domain name http://www.btcbigfish.com
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 16, 2015, 01:10:47 PM This is a nice project but why hosted on wordpress, i think this would have been better if OP setup everything on the domain name http://www.btcbigfish.com FOR SURE - if it is more or less successful :) I am also thinking on underwater streaming etc 8) -> so you actually see the feeding VERY good! However, as the "users" have decreased significantly after the initialization post (last usage yesterday) i am not sure about it :P Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 16, 2015, 02:37:33 PM 1mBTC for feeding a fish, that kinda funny and some kind of waste of money. Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 20, 2015, 02:02:52 PM Anyone knows how to make something like that public?
Beside reddit, is there any better way to get attention? If it is going well i will upgrade it significantly + i am already thinking about "feed the chicken ;D" -> since i have some 8) 8) Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: mudiko on December 20, 2015, 02:41:43 PM I think a domain can help you to let your project look more serious.

Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: locopao on December 20, 2015, 05:06:00 PM You can always try promoting your project via social media (facebook, twitter, etc)
I don't see any of these on your site. By the way, your idea is really unique! ;) Wish you the best! Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: bctmke on December 21, 2015, 08:25:05 PM This is pretty solid. Well done OP
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: nwfella on December 23, 2015, 07:37:58 AM Love it love it. That's one Thank You popup I really enjoyed seeing for once!! :p
You really outta publish a DIY guide and whatever source you used to create this work of art on github. I'm sure there are tech-savvy pet owners the world over that would love to set something like this up for their furry lil someone. ;) Cool project Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: avatar_kiyoshi on December 24, 2015, 06:05:54 PM Looks like your livestream is offline.
Well everyone here looks interested, so we just sent some bit to that address than we can feed the fish(it's real fish? ) than we can watch through livestream? Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: dk8218 on December 25, 2015, 08:12:00 PM Sorry but I didn't get it...
What is this... Please can anyone elaborate me... Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: Jeremycoin on December 26, 2015, 06:39:43 AM Sorry but I didn't get it... You can actually see it if you click the link https://btcfish.wordpress.com/What is this... Please can anyone elaborate me... So this guy is make a streaming video on YouTube, in the video there's an aquarium with a fish that you can feed by sending a Bitcoin. And he said that the donation is for buying a new bigger aquarium and an underwater camera :) Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: coindoubling on December 26, 2015, 07:21:32 AM Seems offline.
Possibly because of holidays? It seems like a nice and creative idea for a project, but as long as i haven't seen it, it's hard to tell what to expect from it. Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: wadii33 on December 26, 2015, 11:16:04 PM Seems offline. it's working fine now also it does not have many informations so that server go down on him i think maybe there is problem in the internetPossibly because of holidays? Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: EXtremeAEX on December 28, 2015, 09:08:41 AM Just fed it, but I can't seem to see clearly. :P Sometimes it turns out clear, but sometimes it lags and everything blurs out. I guess it's difficult to livestream. If it is possible, can you give a notification when the BTC is received and when the food is dropped in the tank? A recording function would be nice too! ;D
Really amazed and curious on how it works. The process was really fast and instant, everyone should try it! Saw your thumbs up too hahaha! Hope to see the tank grow and more fishes in it! :D Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 28, 2015, 09:12:50 AM Just fed it, but I can't seem to see clearly. :P Sometimes it turns out clear, but sometimes it lags and everything blurs out. Just wondering, did you make that yourself, and how did you make it auto feed when the btc balance increase? Waiting to see the new fish!Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: gappo on December 28, 2015, 09:28:03 AM HAHA 8) ;D ;D - just closed the window behind - it was very disturbing :P Awesome man :) I used to have a fish tank too and when I go for holidays the poor fish starve :( This makes me want to have one feeder like yours hehe. Waiting to see the new fish!If it blures out, try another pc/phone (i dont know why - but it youtube stream blure out on my ipad...) yes there are MANY easy options to realize something like that: if you want to make it very robust and with an arduino take something like that: https://github.com/fluentart/BitRobot however, i switched to a raspberry pi - since it also is capable to stream videos. The quality is just related to your internet upload :P if you need support/source - just contact me to the second question: i usually just check the balance on my phone - if nobody feed it - ill do it for my own (like the last 3 days ;D ;D) it is just the stream - that is not THAT stable (i think its related to my poor internet) Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: HeroCat on December 28, 2015, 02:58:31 PM The only problem could be BTC transaction times. No one could want long BTC transaction times, which will be of course with BTC transaction fee 0.0001 ;)
Title: Re: BTC-Fish Post by: BTCBinary on December 29, 2015, 04:13:58 AM well the idea looks great, but let me ask... what happens to the fish if nobody donates? will you leave it to die? That's the part I don't understand.
