Title: Making a Bitcoin Company
Post by: TheBitcoinMiner on December 16, 2015, 01:46:44 AM
If you were to make a bitcoin service/company,
What would it do and how would you go about doing it?
Would it help people around the world or just make money?
     What features would if have?
Why would your idea work better?

Please leave your ideas below.  :)

You mean A service like "Blockchain" ??
If yes I would make it a best service by using strong Ddos protection.
"I would make a "cancel transaction" option if the transaction would not confirm so that the users could cancel the transaction and send again if its unconfirmed for long hours"
"I would make a better modern display of the website"
"I would also make an option for cold storage wallets"
Howz my ideas ?

Joe here from Magnr, a bitcoin trading, savings and investment platform (https://magnr.com/).

In 2013 I did just that and launched a bitcoin only trading platform called BTC.sx (now known as Magnr Trading).

> What would it do and how would you go about doing it?
We both personally and professionally see a huge opportunity in the on-ramping space. What I mean by that is any form of business that is involved in getting Bitcoin into the hands of people. Its becoming easier and easier to set up these businesses with banks becoming more aware of what Bitcoin is.

USD / GBP / EUR etc are trillion dollar markets
Bitcoin is a 6 billion dollar market (tiny in comparison)

If you are bullish on bitcoin, then the on-ramp space will be an opportunity worth a hell of a lot of money if you are successful.

We do not do this at Magnr because we are fairly focused on investment based products.

> Would it help people around the world or just make money?
Do both! Any bitcoin business (as long as its not a ponzi or a scam) helps the ecosystem grow which helps all the bitcoiners in the world! Making money is a very important part of running a successful business so make sure whatever you do makes money for you too. That is unless you are super rich and want to give bitcoins away, in which case go set up a faucet.

> What features would if have?
That depends what you do.

> Why would your idea work better?
Ideas work best when you have passion. Make sure whatever you choose, you can be passionate about.

Great inputs, it's nice to see people from bitcoin companies being active here in the forums. Do you have an AMA on forum.bitcoin.com?

I am also trying to open one exchanger in my country to help people like me to gain their coin in their hand but there are lots of legal restriction over here regarding foreign currency.
I have to operate without government noticing me. We have to go through several problems before we can make bitcoin related projects easily.

What country are you in that does this.  Before you approach it like this, look into what your country classifies Bitcoin as.  In the USA Bitcoin is classified as an asset, so the regulations are very small.  Maybe if there is no classification, you can use the USA classification in order fight to get it treated as an asset so you can bypass these regulations in your country until more secure ways of regulation come along.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes I do actually.

I was lucky enough to meet Roger Ver through these forums, he was someone who helped inspire me to take up entrepreneurship in Bitcoin. I'll happily do my bit to help inspire others. The ecosystem needs it!

People give ideas all the time but unless someone provide the financial part the idea will just won't work .
I personally like to see OpenBazaar open as soon as possible , a Freelancing website like Freelancer.com should work as-well , there is few copies that accepts Bitcoin but it just don't work because there isn't enough advertisement etc ... (As I said it's all about the money when you start a business) .
Google for example didn't show any intention on accepting Bitcoin , so a website that publish applications of the developers should work as-well . (just like Google play but accepting Bitcoin for in-app purchase) . I don't think it should be centralized of course otherwise a lot of people will get infected by viruses and stuff .. so It won't be safe .

Making a Bitcoin Company is not so easy like a spreading butter on bread and eat it. there is lot of knowledge , experience and financial help is required. if you have a good space then try for it and arrange to make all the necessary license documents to start your new business.

It would be a company based on blockchain running a service using the technology. Obviously I don't have a good idea for this yet, as the company would've been launched otherwise ;)

Any company is focused on making money, but it would be nice if it could help people by lowering their transaction fees for instance.
