IBM Creates Open-Source Blockchain With Linux and Big Banks

Tech giant IBM has launched an open-source blockchain along with the support of financial incumbents including JP Morgan, the London Stock Exchange and Wells Fargo as well as tech specialists such as Cisco and Intel.

Competition in the "permissioned" blockchain space.  :P

There is no detail in the report about the open-source blockchain. I wonder if there is much difference from bitcoin blockchain.

The Open Source angle is cute. I paraphrase it as "you can see exactly how we make our insider secrets, you just can't see the secrets themselves."

I don't think centralized decentralization will catch on, but you never know until you try, and the GovBankCorp players don't really have a lot of choices at this point.

The same CD issue had another similar story about a centralized blockchain from a Big Name bank consortium. They're certainly a long way from ignoring BTC-world now and, looking back, it all happened pretty quickly.

Mate in nine.        ;)
