Title: BitFinex Sentiment Index: vote with your wallet not with a click

web page to view BSI : https://bitfinex.com/pages/bsi (http://bit.ly/TDcZCv)

BSI is sentiment index based on Bitfinex users actions not based on a poll, yes BSI use the approach "vote with your wallet not with a click" if a user is not on the market ( he is not long or short) he does not count so if anyone wants to change how the BSI look he needs to put money on the market and go long or short.

example if there are 2 user in the market
user 1 100 bitcoins long
user 2 100 bitcoins short
BSI will be 1:1

And yet the price is clinging to the top of the range.... I smell a short squeeze in the works.

Bitfinex users are very bearish these days, afraid of a price drop?

Its cuz, there is no USD available for longs.

Price is going to rocket very high, very soon.

Exactly, there is no credit available in USD for people to be able to take a long position. So the only positions available are short positions in BTC and that's what generates the bearish sentiment.

Interested, but with Adam here - how do you see this?

Also, what happens to your lended funds if the person you lend to gets liquidated?

you get them back  ;D liquidation is based on traders funds
example you are long term holder and decide to lend bitcoins
trader 1 take your 100 bitcoins and start shorting at the price of 10 usd per bitcoin
if the trader 1 have 500 USD he can afford a 500 USD loss (he is liquidated a bit earlier but to keep this simple) he can affort 5 usd loss per bitcoin
so the trader 1 will be liquidated at 15 usd per bitcoin
when trader 1 go short the 100 bitcoin at 10usd the platform gets 1000 USD from that sell plus it own 500 usd that make 1500 sufficient funds to buy back your 100 bitcoins at 15 usd per btc

Before you place a trade on margin, where can you see what your liquidation price A/o ratio is?
