"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their
right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark,
or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." - The Revelation 13:16-17

Bitcoin is so 'nothing like that'...  whenever I see this idea pop up in comments on articles (and it does) - it just confirms the poster is not only suffering under some superstitious old mind virus, but they don't have the slightest idea how Bitcoin works.

What part of Bitcoin you want me to explain to you?

Welcome to my ignore list.

Okay, I'll bite (I know it will taste foul and probably poison my mind, but I'm trying to build up an immunity). Pray explain what part of Bitcoin requires everyone on the planet to receive a mark in their right hand and/or their foreheads?

Having your private key on your hand or forehead is retarded, everyone can read it!  :D

Private key.

But it is not like what I quoted is already here. That part should be obvious to anyone. Part that seems to not be obvious to anyone is
that the stage is set for it to happen at any moment, starting right now.
::) Apart from the fact that very few people actually use brainwallets (I'm being very liberal with my interpretation - one's brain and forehead are really two completely different body parts), you can transact with bitcoins right now without ever seeing a private key. And you always will be able to. In fact, it is likely that in the future, most people will never see a private key, instead trusting their bank to handle all the "technical" stuff for them (which, considering most of the general public has yet to figure out how to download porn without infecting their computers with half a dozen viruses simultaneously, is probably a good idea).

A prayer for subStrata:  "Dear lord, please protect me from your followers."

Religon is such a mind-virus.

Religon is such a mind-virus.

I don't think it is always this way.

It simply that people who want money, power and women, twist everything around them (including religion) to suit their needs.

Nothing good comes from believing things which aren't true. There's no way to "twist" religion because it's inherently twisted due to being false.

This is only true if you are an omnipotent master of the universe. It is because only someone who has mastered all the knowledge there is, can make statements like this with such absolute certanity. So you are a god, in a way.

It's been almost 300 years since epistemology was invented as a discipline, and yet people can still say things like this and expect to be taken seriously.

"mind-virus" is an understatement.

This has nothing to do with the topic.

This is simple logic. IF there is an extremely advanced being who has the power to affect time-space continuum in every imaginable and possible (or impossible) way, then there would be no way of detecting it, unless it wanted to be detected by design. Complete control, complete power.

Whether it wants or not to be detected is a topic for another discussion.
