Title: BIP38 compatible characters
Post by: turunut on December 21, 2015, 11:07:45 AM
Hello. I want to create a paper wallet encrypted with BIP38 using the bitaddress web, but I have a question
What characters can I use? I mean, can i use: à (letters with accents), ;, -, space(white spaces), etc...?
Or is better to use only: a-z A-Z 0-9...

thank you very much.

If you are talking about the characters you can use for the password, then your can use whatever characters you want as long as it is part of UTF-8, which most characters are.

Thank you very much! This was exactly my question.

Here a web with all the utf-8 characters: http://www.fileformat.info/info/charset/UTF-8/list.htm
