When is Forum Upgraded?

1. Say 'ANN Section' becomes 'ALTs' as in Top300 established coins
2. the Assets, ETH, XCP, NXT, BTS, XEM get their own section
3. 'ANN Section' remains but for what ... 99.9% of all coin launches will fail post 2015 ... so 1/1000 shot of liftoff
4.  Services (exchanges/blockchain tech)
5.  Services (that allow digital coins as payment)
6.  Section Spoetnik

I voted yes, mainly because I am becoming disillusioned in altcoins in general. I didn't like them much in the beginning, tried to give them a chance, but it seems most of these [ANN] threads are circlejerks and scams. It would be nice to see this place return to bitcointalk instead of shitcointalk.

Ok how about this idea ?
Anyone who wants to post a coin ANN topic for now on has to pay theymos 1 Bitcoin.

And my own section ? How fancy !
i would make everyone wears top hats and monocles to enter ;)

That is actually a fantastic idea, it certainly would make it more difficult for scam hawkers to push their wares. If exchanges require a listing fee, why not the ANN section.

Even though I would not mind if the whole altcoin section was deleted, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

It does make quite a lot of sense and there would be less scam/trash coins.

I admit I got caught up in the whole thing, mainly out of curiousity to see if there would be any good features in any of them. As I mentioned in a post yesterday in another thread, I have grown disillusioned with them all - all I see is useless gimmicks and a game to see who can make the most clever scam.

I'm turning over a new leaf in 2016. No more supporting the shitcoin communities. (Does nt apply to NMC which I still see as useful.)

I was in the altcoin game back in 2013 and partially in 2014 when there were not as many bad coins as there are today. Even though I can't say that all of them are bad (which would be a faulty generalization), but I can say for sure that less than 1% of all released coins there are good.

That really is a good idea. Why not make it 2 bitcoins or more? Sure would cut down on the cloners/scammers. Something that should have been done a couple years ago.

I do hope word of this idea reaches theymos and he, in turn, thinks it is a good thing. I'd rather have this than new forum software.

I voted for no. If ANN section gets deleted, where will be the place for better altcoins like Litecoin, Dash and Dogecoin? Their popularity will die very quickly!

I'm the last guy to give Spoetnik any credit, but charging to have a coin listed is a great idea. Be nice if he spent more time on constructive posts instead of being a cunt to everyone. Maybe just maybe there is hope.

No offence but I think Sputnik is an alt of codishmumu. codishmumu also trolled like this before getting banned. I may be wrong too.

Well, for creating a thread in ANN section, members should pay a small fee to theymos per month. This should be the rule from now on to prevent launching of scam coins.

Thanks that is what means the most me here guys.. who cares who likes who.
It's about getting together and sharing ideas code with coins etc.

I just spouted off that idea probably think it would not be received well.

But i would be fine if theymos charged these guys to spam his forum with new coins.
He provides the platform for coin makers so hey why not right ?

Way i see it too is if these guys can't scrape together 1 bitcoin on launch then maybe they shouldn't be doing it.
And yeah good point earlier about paying a fee on some exchanges (some do that ?)

But i guess deleting the whole ANN section would be a bit much LOL

PSA:
@kingaltcoins
I don't think you comprehend what Trolling is.
I would like to see them delete the stupid shithole ANN section. LOL
Any time you guys see a comment you don't like you cry Trolling & FUD ..it got old YEARS ago. (grow up)
Further more.. want to see a picture of my Penis ?

I think even a relatively nominal fee to register a new thread would be enough. 1 btc is pretty darned hefty in anyone's book. I think alts in general are a monumental waste of time but there are still plenty of miners and traders who glean some joy from them.

Problem being is most of it is a circle jerk of fake accounts.
One guy admitted in ALT Main he had created over 60 accounts to post on his coin(s) ANN topics.
Problem is many of you out there really are that stupid, naive and gullible.

And hefty ?
Says a coin CLONER hahhaha
You have sympathy for them huh ?

I say fuck 'em  ..charge 'em 2 Bitcoin then !

Judging from the number of scam-sympathizers voting "no" there will be no shortage of people willing to finance them.

I don't keep up with alts to know how filthy the scene is, but I assume there are some legit folks who need an outlet and this is the daddy. If there are armies of cloners then they'll have money to burn anyway and the ones trying to come up something that isn't a total piss take will be shut out. I don't  think anything'll change anyway.

I agree 100% about the influx of sh*tcoins in the past 1-2 years, however, I think a full removal of the ANN section is way too extreme. Granted, 1/1000 coins are actually good ones..... but is that not the same with damn near anything on the internet? Dvd's, Mp3's, jailbreaks, rooting software, anything cracked, windows iso's, driver file, etc, etc, etc. Anything online is a crapshoot. The point is to allow that 1/1000 developers to actually have somewhere to release their work.

The idea of charging a fee for listing (as most exchanges do) is a much better way of slowing the spread of this scamcoin virus. Make it any amount, 5$ or 5 BTC, just don't stop the creativity of new devs and enthusiasts.

Yes, we will have to ride out this sh*tcoin wave, but IMHO thats a far better fate then having a stagnant community that does not accept/facilitate change and new development.

The ANN section of the forum?

Just ignore it, like I do, I even forgot about that section.

Better than see altcoins announcements spread elsewhere

Yesterday I noticed a coin and I wanted to invest in it. Someone just gave me cheap offers to buy that altcoin and I bought it. Today I see that the altcoin's sell wall is high to 9.1 BTC !!! And I'm now stuck with a bag of s**tcoins! So yes. ANN thread should be deleted! >:(

You guys realize those so called "Good Coins" are nothing but more shit coins right ?

W have guys that showed up and started pumping out shit non stop.
They argued with me about them being good for crypto etc.. called me a TROLL / FUD'ing.
THEN
When the tide changed the simply switched gears into a long term support tactic.
Nothing more.
Coins are just as manipulated as ever only difference is now they ride my coat tails..
Saying ohh my god shit coins are so bad.. except the 1 shit coin i spam about non stop permanently.
They switched tactics that's all..

How do you know ?

Real simple.
All the guys pushing all those so called "Good Coins" have a past in pushing previous coins.
Follow the scammy trail.

Just a money making game.
They know the gig is up and the last angle / method to use around here is the "Long Con"
Because these same assholes killed the scene with their short con games.

*IF* a huge crowd comes to Crypto ever again 90% of these dickheads riding my coat tails anti-shit coin
will do a 180 and support clone coins *again*

They came here to make money and they will at an cost !

It's not what you SAY ..it's how you ACT !
