Ive noticed /r/bitcoin has lost a lot of sunscibers form the active censoring. Its gotten a bit out of hand by taking away the voting system. Hopefully it gets sorted out or a lot more people will stop usin it, and in the end it only hurts bitcoin.

Cool, you know the site admin here runs /r/bitcoin aswell?

I think its a good idea we have more forums for competition seeing as reddit gives you free forum i can see a whole ton of /r/bitcoinwhatevers appearing next few months.  The ones to succeed will offer something different and new.

You might also want to try:

https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoinxt (https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoinxt)
https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin_unlimited (https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin_unlimited)

Stay away from r/bitcoin it is presently being censored by small block proponents and Core supporters. I do not believe that this type of censorship should even be part of the Bitcoin community no matter what you believe.

You might also want to check out the bitco.in forum, there is lots of great Bitcoin related discussion in there as well:

Censorship and bitcoin community do not go along. Such initiatives will fade away.

I think there are starting to be too many sub reddits for Bitcoin... Information is scattered around many places now. But anyways, why not? Subscribed.

There's a few too many subreddits at the moment. r/bitcoin itself deserves to die. The blatant and crazy manipulation on there doesn't make it a viable source any more. I like bitcoinxt the best but even that's a one trick pony.

I actually like the voting system being unknown, because you focus on the message and you don't get influenced by the amount of likes or dislikes the comment has.

Thats fair enough but it means misinformation can be spread more easily because you cant tell so easily whats been upvoted and whats been downvoted. Sometimes its handy to be able to see heavily downvoted comments because they are of a malicious nature or just plain wrong.

There seems to be too much commotion is these other subreddits, and I just decided to recreate one that is absent of all the mod drama.

I also already bookmarked it. I like to read this kind of things and there are some very good posts on it. How did you not know that 15 million Bitcoins has already been mined? That news has already been around for many months.

I don't think so. On each of the subreddits there is different information. It is good to see that more subreddits are being made. I think there are too many subreddits on cryptocurrencies though.

The "censorship" thing was just a stunt to garner support for the XT split. Yes, some posts and threads was deleted, but it broke the rules of the sub-reddit. " Promotion of client

software which attempts to alter the Bitcoin protocol without overwhelming consensus is not permitted. That sub-reddit was dedicated to the promotion of Bitcoin, not some Alt

coin that are hell bend on destroying it. If they want to promote something like that, they could do it on their own sub-reddit, and they did just that. Let's hope your sub-reddit

stands neutral to all these discussions. Do not ban any discussions... and give freedom of speech and it will be fine.  ;)
