Title: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: dooglus on December 26, 2015, 08:14:35 PM I just received this:
https://i.imgur.com/pxAgDrL.png The "review your devices" button links to http://bit.ly/1Om71Rp which takes you to a fake google login page and asks for your google password. It appears to be targeting Bitcoin users, so be careful out there! Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: BitMaxz on December 26, 2015, 08:22:36 PM Yeah i got receive phishing site like that but the design is not the same and there are too many email i receive every week with this link...
After clicking on the link you can go to fake google login page and after you typing your username and password you will redirect to original page of google. So i change my gmail password and report it to gmail.. Beware guys and always check the url above before you signin.. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: unamis76 on December 26, 2015, 08:55:46 PM Nothing here, yet. Any clues on what website is sending this? Maybe an email list leaked?
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: shorena on December 26, 2015, 08:58:03 PM The irony, the google "you used Tor, didnt you?" message, they claim is for the users security used for phishing.
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: dooglus on December 26, 2015, 09:01:28 PM Always use two step authentication to protect your Google account. Also add you mobile number so that Google send you pin before change password attempt. It's also worth pointing out that once you have set up 2FA using your phone you can switch it to use Google Authenticator instead. That way you don't need cell service to be available in order to log in from a new device. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: btcdevil on December 26, 2015, 09:37:17 PM Their are lot of Phishing going on , we cannot point out one or two, ya but when ever we come to know about it we should post here so that newbie or anyone else can be alert by this information.
once i got phising by i received a email offer - that one site is opening and they are giving reward of 0.05btc to just register in their account and they will be giving as free offer for their site launch, after i created the site they just got my password of my email id and changed it but luckily i was having security of my mobile sms which i activated it, so when i received sms of password changing i cancelled it and like this i saved my email id. so be carefull when you receive any offer of free bitcoins, dont try to register with your original details. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: Umworpol on December 26, 2015, 10:22:05 PM Never click link from a email as always

Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: cellard on December 27, 2015, 12:43:17 AM Wow, these guys are getting really good. Normally I can spot a phising site really fast but this looks pretty real. Of course I always look at the url before clicking so I would still notice that the url is some shady stuff and wouldn't click.
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: funkydog on December 27, 2015, 12:43:28 AM Thx for the heads-up. Weird that it's not detected yet by Chrome or Firefox.
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: bitcoinboy12 on December 27, 2015, 12:53:27 AM Thanks to inform us to aware this kind of hacking. And i think why hackers trying to hack because of holiday season.

for it. Luckily I stopped myself and went to the sites through their proper URL's. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: NorrisK on December 27, 2015, 08:38:56 AM Thanks for the warning. These types of attacks can be really dangerous as they look so much like the real messages..
Always double check the email address and the link it sends you to. If unsure, just go through the normal website. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: Greenenergy on December 27, 2015, 08:56:29 AM Thanks for the heads up doog, nearly installed a malware on my laptop by falling for that earlier.
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: avatar_kiyoshi on December 27, 2015, 09:19:33 AM I got an email like this, this is given to random people who use their gmail for bitcoin service/related?
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: Bitcoin_Delivery on December 27, 2015, 09:32:20 AM Thanks...I have a Gmail account and I think that they do a great job of preventing spam, but of course the user control is the last wall vs spammers.
I never open mail from address that i don't know, it's easy nowadays to recognize potential spam/phishing/spoofing mails without open it ;) Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: TastyChillySauce00 on December 27, 2015, 09:36:00 AM By looking on the tags you should've already know if it's spam ,and i reccomend you to install some antivirus which let you blocked the phising site ,and also take a look on your address bar to see the domain,if it look strange then better close the tab
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: Epicnicity on December 27, 2015, 11:49:08 AM Ah I see. I don't use google mail but thanks for the warning and heads up.
Who knows when they will start to target people who use outlook. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: Kprawn on December 27, 2015, 12:25:49 PM These people get better at every new attempt... There are so much talented people out their, but they choose to use those talents for the wrong things. They could make much
more money, if they used those talents for honest work. Just report these phishing attempts and spread the word and it would be a safe place for everyone. I report everything here --> http://www.badbitcoin.org/ Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: davinchi on December 27, 2015, 02:05:36 PM I got an email like this, this is given to random people who use their gmail for bitcoin service/related? Many users do receive such mails even if they aren't associated with any bitcoin service. This is because these online forums are often attacked and the email addresses are then leaked which makes us receive spam/phishing emails. I receive mails from fake payza/paypal accounts almost everyday and reporting them also isn't helping. Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: EdenHazard on December 27, 2015, 02:13:39 PM I think as long as google can still anticipate email spam into any Google account, do not worry too much, as well as any in the phishing email sent, gmail will filter it and put it into the spam folder.
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: KenR on December 27, 2015, 06:43:58 PM Damn, recently there was a similar mirrored site for blockchain.info as well. Its bilockchain.info .I totally agree they're targeting bitcoin users. Thanks a lot for sharing the info, I would have never figured this out if have had got the email.
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: Mr. Forum on December 27, 2015, 08:25:33 PM this is one of the modern ways that the hackers are using so that they can be able to gain access to the emails you have been holding for a while. They want to gain access and use them to solicitize funds from the competitors. Will a relocation that appears similar to the google one for example if you are using gmail as your email service provider, you will be redirected to a page that allows you to be able to enter password thinking that it is legit only to realize that it was not .
Title: Re: Beware: targeted phishing Post by: quentincole32 on December 27, 2015, 08:39:32 PM I got an email like this, this is given to random people who use their gmail for bitcoin service/related? i get malicious mail in my inbox its weird, malicious mail contains malicious file attached get in my inbox not in spam. and i think this malicious mail related to bitcoin service because i used this email for bitcoin activity only https://i.imgur.com/4Y2vmnj.png and this one the old scam scheme get in my inbox, not sure if this mail come from a bitcoin related service. but you guys deserve to know that it's totally scam. https://i.imgur.com/UUEWaTT.png?1 |
