The electrum 1.9.8 doesnt work on my PC for a reason.. I've installed it, but when i try to launch it, a window pops up for a second then dissapears. Nothing happens next. That's my first experience, haven't used the service before. My firewall doesnt seem to block the connection. Anyway, i've tried to disable it but that changed nothing. Using Windows7. Now for what comes to the issue you are facing , I guess I had it before , all you have to do is head to the AppData folder of Electrum and delete that .config file and try to run the .exe once again , that should do the trick . 1) unistalled my client using the uninistaller file; 2) downloaded the latest version from your link ("windows installer..."); 3) i went to .../appdata/roaming/electrum 4) ive deleted two files: "recent servers" & blockchain headers 5) ran the .exe again. Now the window "2.5.4 - default wallet - something" was alive for ~5 sec, the died again. Back to what we've started with) Why you deleted recent servers and blockchain headers ? :o I'm pretty sure those are not the CONFIG files . Please take a screenshot about your Electrum AppData and post it here since I don't have it installed on my PC .
