Title: Does any btc sportsbook implement live stream feature?
Post by: fox19891989 on December 30, 2015, 05:21:49 PM
Hi, guys, have you seen any btc sportsbook have this feature? it must be a good idea to attract players, i think this is not difficult to implement it, you can use a service api to add it, or you insert stream link into your site, and you pay them fees.

I don't know if it is to difficult or not, or if they have to pay rights to have a legal stream. I think that would be the main problem. i used betfair before I started using btc, and I used their live stream, but even there, I could not see every games because of copyrights, so I don't know if it is that simple.

I hope it is and that sports books sites start implementing it, because it's an awesome feature.

That is actually a bad suggestion and not worth it. What is so hard about opening two tab at once? one tab is for your sportsbook site while the other site is for the live streaming site so you can get what you want easily.

it is a good suggestion you mean to say like bet365 site where you can bet and same time you can watch the match progress in small live stream window.

nice idea for bitcoin site also this will surely attract more players to play on that site which offers this service.

Mostly on fiat sportsbook there is a live stream for some sports match but can't see so far for any bitcoin sportsbook.
And that is true, the copy right is the problem why bitcoin sportsbook not yet implemented this feature , it's expensive.
We just hope there a bitcoin sportsbook do this soon.

good points guys, i didn't know they need to buy copyrights from TV, that's a huge amount of money, if any btc sportsbook can offer that service, that one must be a famous and rich site, maybe they have ability to run fiat and btc in the same time. i hope we will see that in the future, cause btc gambling is the future.

one case may be: a fiat famous bookmaker with live stream site implements btc deposit&withdrawal.

Technicalities are not the biggest concern here. Live stream can be done. Real problem is legality of the stream. For now Sportsbooks are not paying any fees to official sport organizations or broadcasting companies.
But if international online sportsbook would want to have live stream over the internet they probably will have to pay fees for streaming copyright material for EVERY country that material is legally available.

So don't expect it to happen guys, not anytime soon.

Legality of the stream? most btc sportsbook here is not legal as well so concern about legality is not needed here however they will not want to risk it since once someone reported them and they get noticed then that will be the end of their business

Ofcourse this can be implemented but it's not a good idea because it will slow down the betting site and guess what if the site becomes slow during live betting then the site will lose the user's bets..the better suggestion is to just display the live scores on the sites,This way people can bet live comfortably too..if they still need to watch the match live stream then there are many other sites and they can do that on those sites.

Which sportsbook are you talking about? Can you mention it one by one which sportsbook are illegal around here?
If they are illegal they won't run the business until now they must be arrested.
The only make it illegal only if there is a jurisdiction in certain state/country.

Nope, they haven't.They have live scores but live stream is kinda of not affordable for them.Having live sports broadcasting needs exclusive rights from the Association or the sports board which is likely not happening with the Sports Betting sites.

It would be really nice if a site had it. It should also have a trollbox next to it, so that the users could speak to each other about the game. I think it would make the "feel" of the bet much better, something like a real bookies lol. And i do not think it would slow the site down as much, and obtaining rights to stream are not that expensive.

This might be hard to do because of all the contracts they would have to have.
I remember betcoin.tm said theyhad a livestream. Never  tried it  so  i don't know

o yeah, i think that idea is awesome too, trollbox is a good way to attract more players cause it makes the site like a community or home.

primedice, justdice have the trollbox that's why they are very popular in the community.

There are some fiat sportsbook that offer this. Like betfair, or bet365, there are probably more, but I just used these ones, mostly on betfair. And even on this one it was not always available because of copyright for my country. So I think we will hardly ever see it in btc sportsbook. As for the usefulness of it, I find it very usefull, because I enjoyed trading in sportsbetting, and I needed to watch the game live to be able to make decisions, and most normal streams would have much more delay compared to what betfair had to offer, so it was a great feature.
