Title: Fruito / Classicdoubler SCAMMER
Post by: BreakTheBookies on December 31, 2015, 09:24:59 AM
So I contacted coindoubler about his sr. account he was selling. We made a deal, I send 0.04 first, he sends account info and I pay the rest. Worked great, went smooth. 2 hours later I try to login to the account and the guy somehow got the account back. I have all the PMs if that's any proof. I got on the account and deleted the 777 SIG campaigne stuff and replaced the BTC addy which now says (Sorry) I guess I would like to see the account get red trusted so this wont happen to someone else. Got me for 0.09 btc.

I have btc and am willing to pay 0.08 for it right now. That's a good chunk for change to be sending first. can we use an escrow? or how is the best way to do this?

If you use escrow he will mark the account trus with "this account is buyed" so escrow is definetely not a good idea.
What you can do is you can send first half payment and i will give you login information then yoou send the rest and we complete the deal.
thank you.

That sounds ok to me, can we complete this soon? Just want to doublecheck, theres no bad rep and nothing that would lower the value of the account? Send your BTC address and we will get this deal started.

The account has exact 392 activity , if you can send some extrabits then i will be happy.

For the future: how to make sure you control an account:

#1 get a signed message with the staked address for the account or an old unedited post
#2 change the password
#3 change the mail address
#4 remove or replace the security question
#5 stake a new address

Its not enough alone, no. You search the account for old unedited posts, like this[1] and ask for a signed message. E.g.

Code:
This is fruito from bitcointalk.org and today is 2015.12.31
Today I sell my account to BreakTheBookies for 0.16 BTC.

or something like that. With that you can make sure - if needed - that the account will not be restore with a signed message to theymos[2]. I made a thread here[3] if you want to learn how to sign messages and verify them.

PS. Thanks for red tagging this jerk, I feel a bit better.

sure, no problem. It wont give you the account back though.

Why the classicdoubler account is not taged? He is still selling in the auction section. Even though some users warned against him?

I did change the password but didn't even consider that the email attached could be used to get the account back. now I know. another expensive lesson.

oh really?  well, OP why you didn't ask the sign message before you buy this account ??

i can sign message from my first address here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=978594.msg11794685#msg11794685. also with the email for this account ?

Not to excuse Fruito being a scumbag scammer, but if you can't understand the simple basics like changing the email address of the account you just bought, then you should not be buying accounts. The whole idea of buying an account is ludicrous anyway, but bitcointalk allow it..

I also left feedback on the fruito account until this issue is resolved, but I do believe OP's version of events.

Shorena's comments were spot on. If you are a newbie and are going to purchase an account here, these are the minimal steps you should be following to secure the account.

Let me guess. You only "noticed" that the account was "hacked" when you got red trust? The "hacker" conveniently forgot to change the e-mail address and just sold it like that?

There is an easy way to prove that you were not selling it. Refund BreakTheBookies. I will revise my trust to neutral. Can't speak for shorena though.

Indeed. I am waiting to see the outcome of it all before changing my feedback. If OP and fruito could shed some light on it, it would be helpful.

The person claiming responsibility for the hack is obviously the bragging type, and such types usually make mistakes sooner or later. So if OP could share more information on the events leading up to this I am keeping an eye on it for sure.

Wow, I dunno what to believe about this guy. I'm sorry I just don't have any more information.

"6. Amount scammed: 0.09BTC
Victim: BreakTheBookies , co-victim: Fruito
Actually Fruito has many alts like Kemben.
interesting Facts: Kemben and Fruito keeps the same password same like everaja and  zeratunerse.

for the wallet transaction i cant give proof as the transaction went to my Xapo account.
But i can make you believe by giving the account passwords , BreaktheBookies can confirm it as he changed this password: adamz123 , even kemben can confirm if he was using this password or not.
i will give more proof on this scam on demand."

Hes saying I can confirm that password, yes I can. I posted it in the original post...I dunno if this is all true or just covering for all his accounts. I mean I was scammed either way, the btc is not coming back. so if fruito is actually innocent, I don't want him punished. But honestly I just don't believe this. what do you guys think?

That's why I am waiting to see what happens or what else I can uncover. suchmoon and shorena both posted in the other thread, and if there are any two better people at untangling scams on these forums I haven't met them yet. (EDIT: There is mexxer-2 my bad)

I will naturally change my personal feedback on fruito's account to neutral if this story is indeed true. But still requires further investigation.

I don't understand this. Who is Alaki and what does it have to do with the OP?

Are you suggesting that you would give your account to the OP? It's worthless with the neg trust and you haven't done anything to resolve that.

You need to provide more detail and context and facts etc. I understand that English might be not your first language but that just means you need to put a lot more effort into it.

Let me guess. You only "noticed" that the account was "hacked" when you got red trust? The "hacker" conveniently forgot to change the e-mail address and just sold it like that?

??? Ok i just got a PM from fruito  saying "Hey i'm real owner, i'm come from indonesia.

than i really sorry but to be honest it hard to forget this account. but show must go on" With also, the account name and a password.

I wanna be very clear here fruito, i want nothing to do with the account. Change the password you gave to me, do what you want. Obviously, 0.09 btc is the only thing I'm accepting from you. Don't know the point of giving me your account now would be.

I am not a part of this matter and have nothing to do with the OP. Read the full post. I meant to say that he/she/it (fruito) denied / ignored an exchange deal when I asked to use escrow.

So good to see newer members have the presence of mind to use escrow. Reading your link, this is typical scammer behavior - they will balk at the mention of escrow or you will simply never hear from them again.
