Title: bitcoind, poclbm.py and phoenix.py - run them all? Post by: chrnit on June 07, 2011, 07:35:31 PM Hey everyone
I am a newbie to the bitcoin world but I managed to set up an ubuntu mining system with the help of this guide: http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=7514.0 By googling I found instructions on how to connect poclbm.py and phoenix.py properly to fetch work from my pool. Looking at the hash/s I assume that poclbm.py uses cpu while phoenix.py uses gpu. Is that correct? Now there is also bitcoin as well as bitcoind, the headless client. Do I need to run one of them, too? I am confused which programs I have to run in order to mine correctly. Regards Title: Re: bitcoind, poclbm.py and phoenix.py - run them all? You don't need to run both. Some pools have their own custom miners they recommend running.
