Title: WTB bankruptcy Post by: rockso on December 18, 2012, 03:41:51 AM I destroyed my credit before i was 20. I need a fresh start. Bankruptcy attorneys in my area are telling me $800 for their service. I know i can do it myself for under $100 but i dont know what im doing. Was wondering if anybody here could help me out for a reasonable amount.

Title: Re: WTB bankruptcy Post by: squall1066 on January 02, 2013, 08:26:10 AM They say a bankrupsy only remains on file for 5 years (blacklist) But I have friends that cannot gain good credit 20 years down the line because it is still on their file, I would consider working through it, Write to all companies you owe offering a small repayment amount, If they take you to court, They CANNOT REFUSE a payment from you, However small, Provided you can prove It's all you can afford. (easily done by stating debts) I needed to say this, Bankrupsy is not a "go back to start card" It will hold you back for a loooooong time.

I'm guessing you haven't read enough if $800 for help with bankruptcy-level settlement seems exorbitant. That and I saw the term 'fresh start.' For a flat $800 I assume you're just borrowing their letterhead.. and adding $800 to your debt.
