Title: Reducing balance on faucet
Post by: Jet Cash on January 04, 2016, 10:23:07 AM
Why do some faucets reduce your current balance by a few satoshi? They seem to rebuild it again next time you visit the site though.

if reduce your active balance (but is hard because more faucet pay direct to faucetbox) is a scam
if reduce the rewards is normale, change with bitcoin price and for many $ owner earn form adv

If you're talking about the overall balance that goes down as people claim from the faucet and back up as the faucet owner refills the faucet wallet to keep paying out?

If you're talking about rewards that's more of a 2 part answer. One part is as the value of bitcoin goes up and down most good faucets try to keep the "dollar value" of bitcoin they reward the same. Another reason maybe they're not getting enough or as much revenue from people viewing adds on there faucet. Both reasons are so the faucet owner can keep the faucet open while at the same time making a small (or no) money from there faucet.

Reducing balance on faucet ? whose balance, yours or the faucet balance ?

if yours, it's cheating for me, it's balance should be for us not for owner faucet.
if faucet balance it's normal  ;D

Faucet is reducing rewards because they don't get from ads the same amount that give away to other for example for this day I given away 100k satoshis but from ads got on 50k it's one of the reasons why faucets is lowering rewards. For my faucet was the same I given away 300k satoshis but from ads got only 30k it's 10x less than I given so yea..

Thanks for the replies. It's Moonbitcoin, and I was trying to understand the logic behind the awarding of Sats to "members". It seems to be an established faucet, and I assume it is well run and adequately funded, I have no reason to think otherwise. It only reduces my balance for payment by a few points, and it replaces them reasonably quickly. Well all points are awarded desperately slowly, but that seems to be a feature of all faucets as I understand it.

Faucets seem to be a useful way to gain traffic (probably of low value), and I am thinking of creating one for this purpose.

moon bitcoin is trusted faucet it reduces your balance only if you give too much time gap between 2 claims or to when admin adjust average reward .
