Only if you sell into the rush that will come when miners are running away from Bitcoin ASICs.

Look at this VERY useful sheet: http://dustcoin.com/mining (http://dustcoin.com/mining)
It tell which cryptocurrency are the more profitable for you, with your mining speeds (scrypt and sha256) and power usages

There's also http://coinchoose.com/ which also lists CHNCoin, though it doesn't have power usage calculations.

Litecoins are really going good lately. I think it's definitely worth giving a shot.

Anyone should mine whatever cryptocurrency gives them the best profit.

Yes but should we see the best profit now or the best profit in the future ? Let's say http://dustcoin.com/mining tells the best cryptocurrency to mine is litecoin now, because Bitcoin is locally going down. But we all know Bitcoin is very volatile and that it'll go up few hours/days later. So the question is : is dustoin taking into account the volatility, that is to say the average value ?

Dustcoin is only covering current rates/profitability.

There's no way to know what tomorrow's rates will be, and as Gavin Andresen has said, "it's still an experiment and only invest time or money you could afford to lose."

I think it's best to think about profitability in terms of mining versus buying the coins right now instead. For example CNC is more profitable than LTC right now because if you spent the same effort/time mining both, the CNC you'd have afterwards would trade for more than the LTC you would have.

Of course long term profitability depends on the future value of the coin. So while it might not seem 'profitable' to mine LTC now, if LTC increases in value by 10 times in the next week versus CNC it will have been a better choice to mine.
