Title: People who don't like signature campaigns: first, STOP SPAMMING. And: Click Here
Post by: jackg on January 05, 2016, 10:14:45 PM
I see many people complaining about signatue campaign members like me.
For (supposedly) spamming, because the user does not get what they want.

Instead, Click Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u="Your UID";sa=theme

place your uid after the U=

ALSO: it is up to campaign managers to decide if users are spamming or not (USUALLY)! (But also, admin, staff and moderators)

Hope this helps stop the annoyance that people seem to find,

Jack G

Here's a better link - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=theme

Also, it isn't the signature that annoys people usually. It is usually the vast amount of low quality posts made by people spamming for dust. You can change your theme settings all you like, unless you use an Ignore list it will not change anything.

There was an "Ignore List" in some sections made by notable users.
These tend to be updated atleast monthly to include anyone in a signature campaign or mistaken for having a signature campaign.
These tdo seem to be spemmers, as I have noticed that people like me don't get on those lists I have interacted with these users beforehand in another thread.

I want to say this in response to your post, minifrij:  Since I joined Yobit's sig campaign, I've been making 30K satoshi per post for up to 20 posts/day.  I'm sure you and everyone else knows this.  That adds up and I don't consider it dust, especially since I'm doing what I'd be doing anyway, which is posting here.  Faucets dispense dust.  A good sig campaign gives more than dust, especially to people who need it.

Having said that, I think people enrolled in these campaigns should have to do a little work and actually think of something decent to contribute.  It's definitely annoying to see so many garbage posts from people who are getting paid.  I find the hardest part is actually finding topics I want to post in, so I see why so many users just post in the off-topic section.

There is also an adblock script for signatures. Thread discussing it is located here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1003570.0

I find the low-quality post spammers annoying as well, but those are easily reported and/or ignored. Sig campaigns are a nice way to get some extra bits, especially if you live in an area where it is difficult to obtain Bitcoin otherwise.

Well you can block signatures by just choosing that particular setting here on bct.  I find this extremely useful but the problem as I said is the shitposts.  It's always about the shitposts.

Fair point, though I wouldn't consider 0.006BTC ($2.6) per day to be a life changing amount unless you're spamming one word posts to get it.  I don't think that people should see signature campaigns as a way to get bitcoin, more a bonus to something they already enjoy doing (like you seemingly). However, if this is the case (and you are an actual, high quality poster) I don't much understand why you would join a campaign that gave out so little. You and I get the same amount of Bitcoin every 30 days by hitting the limits on our signature campaigns, the difference being that you have to make 600 posts while I only have to make 150.
Still, each to their own.

That plugin is designed to only block signatures which are ads, such as Bit-X and the like, while leaving other signatures untouched. Disabling signatures overall gets rid of all of them.

People that hate signature campaigns, are usually spammers.

You should be able to make more by linking to your own sites, than by joining a low return sig campaign. It also means that you won't be associated with a product of which you don't approve.

When i try to change the current theme it goes to some blank page with "disbled 45" written on it.I guess that is to change it to the dark or night mode ? but why would they disable and keep it at the same time ? doesn't makes sense .

Unremovable part of SMF I guess, same as "Delete post" in last posts. At any rate, the discussion here is about signatures not themes.

I think signature campaigns go a long way in promoting bitcoin. How else do you expect people like me to earn Bitcoin with my limited resources? And unless I earn Bitcoin, how am I supposed to use it?and if I dont use it why would I ever adopt it?So Bitcointalk signature campaigns are doing more good to btc than any thing else

not really, the purposes of a sig campaign is advertising, and advertising only. theres no hidden advantage like 'distributing bitcoin equally' or 'giving everyone a chance' or 'promoting bitcoin in a healthy way' or anything. it serves as advertisement, and its tolerated by theymos because it brings traffic to the forum. weather or not they do good for bitcoin as a whole is up for debate though, while they do give people a chance to get some coin by learning about bitcoin by posting on the forums, they do give off a negative vibe created by the spammers that take advantage of these campaigns and do everything in their power to farm accounts and spam for payouts.
if youre asking how to get bitcoin with your so called limited resources, try finding a job. one that, you know, actually involves going out and working, not typing on a forum meant for discussion.

Both are true.
First, from subSTARTA, it is indirectly promoting bitcoin they are not doing it intentionally. However, they know that to get advertisements, they will use bitcoin on a bitocin forum.
Second, from Wapinter, this is also correct, it does not try to promote bitcoin, it promotes itself. However, it does this through Bitcoin. Saying tha they are a company acepting Bitcoin and paying people in bitcoin.

I would give you all my btc if you find me just one job in my city that pays in bitcoin.I am ready to go out and work all day long if I get paid in bitcoin

Well, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you're from India. Benson Samuel (formerly mod of India section of the forum) has a start up called coin secure which is doing quite well in India. You can always buy bit coins with fiat at exchanges.Sig campaigns don't really promote bitcoins but just their websites.

Just an FYI I have a job, my issue is finding a way to obtain bitcoin that doesn't involve giving my entire life history away (e.g. coinbase) or getting scammed (localbitcoins or here).

I save every bit I earn from sig campaigns and from the few online jobs I get. I am reluctant to even spend my rather healthy stash anywhere unless I can actually trust you.

Yes you are right I am from India.I am aware of coin secure and other bitcoin exchanges where I can buy bitcoin but that is out of question here.I buy food, pay bills, rent, for fuel, medical expenses all with fiat do you expect me to convert my fiat to something which is quite useless in my local market? I can't buy even a single pizza with Bitcoin. In such a situation i need to find other ways to get bitcoin and what else is better than sig campaigns
