Title: WTB - Casascius Silver/Gold Post by: dumbchump on January 06, 2016, 02:14:43 PM I'm looking to purchase a Casascius silver/gold. I'm not looking for a MS70 (yikes there are a lot of those) but rather a low grade or an ungraded version. Either PM or post here. Thanks all.

Presumably you mention low grade/ungraded for price reasons? Yes, price reasons...I'm the first to agree that a MS69 should command more than a MS68 and so on. Unfortunately I need to turn fiat into BTC to purchase these coins (since I burned through all the BTC I had). Anyone who is married can understand why I want a poorly graded or ungraded one... ;D I'm thinking ungraded in that you know it won't grade well so why spend the money/effort... not that it is perfect and hasn't been sent in. I can't believe I thought these were expensive a few years ago. I can't believe I thought these were expensive a few years ago. Understood. I resisted getting my coins graded back in the day because I thought "They're new & in capsules from the creator, how different could they be?" (Plus, am I the only one who thinks slabs are ugly?) Then I stopped paying attention for a while -- but now that I've been looking through the forums again recently I can see how important the grading is to many and can make a big difference in the value. Ehh, it seems like such a chore! Title: Re: WTB - Casascius Silver/Gold Post by: HabBear on January 07, 2016, 05:37:26 AM How much are you offering. I have a few brass and silver, none graded, I could be willing to sell. Quote me a price...let's start there.

Quote me a price...let's start there. Unfortunately I'm looking for about $1k USD. If prices drop to the fall levels then it'll be easy to offer over 4 btc and still get there. Today it looks like even for low grade ones I'm SOL. My wife and I discussed it last night. Her thinking is she's fine with paying a premium (say $600 for example) for a limited mintage coin that has some neat history....so at $250 I can offer about 4 btc.....but today I'm just over 2 btc....and will continue to get worse if the btc price increases. Looks like I'm priced out of the current market. I did pick up an awesome 1.0 Lealana from smoothie with a specific number on the hologram (that has meaning)....thanks smoothie! |
