Prepare for a new dark age. Today the JPY trades at 117 which is a signal we are in for a big big crash.

The era of the USA is finally over. Soon the western world will self destruct and we will enter a new dark age.

The future is here. AS western civilization self destructs over the coming weeks and months let us be thankful we are alive and have each other to keep our positive momentum going.

Maybe this could become another strong moment where btc gain value and popularity among users...
Why trust a "bank" that print money and limit you account ?
I think we are entering in a new age, where btc could be one of strongest tool for this time.

that's exactly what i ask it to myself everyday , along the ages, there is something in people that makes them forget, never learn and try to build something better...let's hope that this time, is the time for the change with our lovely tool, the bitcoin.

I don't believe in all these prophecies like: 'Oil crude is $xx today! Crisis will hit tomorrow!' or 'Bitcoin is price falling! It is the end of crypto!'
I am totally convinced that crisis will gonna hit us sooner or later, but it it won't be easy to spot - you, see financial stability is always advertised as stable until it isn't.
If it would be so easy to spot and predict crisis from simple evidence like price drop of single currency - there won't be any slumps!

Keep calm man, better days will come, people and experts will solve this situation, even if the crash happens it will be back on its foot again.

They always find away to band aid a broken skeleton frame and I'm sure this time will be no different. This has been coming for a very long time though, since before 2008 we was just given a little more time in that year.

If it goes to shit more and more that is because the powers that be want it to and the future will not be to bright for a very long time. To a degree I agree with you OP there are some dark times coming but no different to most the world for the last hundred years.

Most of us have had the blinkers on to what has really been happening so now we get a ruse awakening.

There have been many crashes that we bounce back from, the cycle of the markets.  With all of the new technologies out there it does not seem like we are heading into a dark age anytime soon, in fact it may be the opposite.  There may need to be a brief dark period before a more light period. Bitcoin will be part of the light ages.

come on this is lame. This is not the end of the world man ;D everyday we all hear about this lame idea of a big crash, a crisis. Everything is still fine until something actually happens! Oil, fiat exchange rate,... they are parts of the economy and a few factors cannot decide the whole thing. Even if it does show us something, when will it happen? Dark age is a bit overdramatic.. Most people have survived the previous crash, although with massive financial problems.

It is not time for the USA to be replaced by china, just look how much they are dropping compared to the USA.

This seems just silly to me, every year there are people saying that we need to prepare for a crisis
and what not. It's been decades since debt has come to existence and it won't go away

Well I see that now is at the range of 450 dollars is not that much, but is stable enough for me.

What's your source on this big big crash happening? And yes infact I have been keeping up with the stock market and that it has been going on around the world.
This happens almost on a yearly basis, mostly at the beginning of each year, so I'm not really surprised to see this happening.

People are just realizing they can't sustain a 10% growth that our economy required, just because it's not possible... Adding 10% of value every year can't stand for very long!

That's true, I'm in the same situation as to where I can't use bitcoin yet to pay for my groceries.

My god. Haven't you THOUGHT to look up decent btc debit cards, such as Bit-X? In case you haven't, I recommend you look that up.

Crying out crisis is no way to do it until someone looks up all the options. Maybe you weren't informed of such debit cards?

Wow. It doesn't solve everything but thanks for that cause no I NEVER heard of that. I wouldn't even thought it existed in the first place in Europe (I knew about ATM-btc in USA but I don't think they exist in France for example).

But it doesn't change anything. Even if I go through btc, I'll pay in EUR. Because btc will be transformed in EUR and I'll pay with them. So I totally depends on the EUR value and stability. And I'm still paid in EUR.

Well the good things is that I can now really choose between putting my savings in btc or EUR, as I may spend both in an easy way. But I'm still not bank-free, as I'll still have to pay my taxes for example (and you can't do that with a debit card).

I think you are exaggerating. I mean sure, a crisis is guaranteed, and it will be bigger than anything we've ever seen before, but there's a big margin between this and "new dark age" as in we are about to enter some sort of mad max type of scenario. If you don't live in the middle of a big city you should be pretty safe, so just sit back and enjoy your new rich status as Bitcoin becomes the safe haven for all the shit that's about to hit the fan.

Is there any monthly maintenance fee for the debit card and can it be used with local ATMs to withdraw your bitcoin balance into cash? I tried looking for a FAQ on their site but couldn't find any.

Could be true but it's probably not.   Do you have a time frame for your prediction? Months? Years? The end will come eventually but I doubt it's going to be anytime soon. People are always predicting doom.

Lack of Direct Adoption does't mean that bitcoin is useless. Bitcoin is here for less than 5 years realistically. FIATs are present by over a hundred.
Treat bitcoin like any foreign currency right now, can you buy groceries in US for Euro or Pounds? Can you use yuan outside China to buy stuff?
And with bitcoin you have far more options than just exchange it to your national FIAT.

Bitcoins have its own individuality, its own independent value...

We might see some smaller or bigger crashes which could lead to a crisis, short term or long term I don't know, globally or local.
But this will not mean we will live in a dark age or any other kind of doom scenario for many decades.
But it can become really bloody and a pain in the a** I agree.

It will depend on how you get hit by this crisis. I don't think everybody will be effected with same magnitude in crisis. Saying dark age will be little bit more than reality. :D

It's too much what OP is saying but he is not in the wrong track, if we are going to try to predict the future, we need to consider all of the current trends, and all of the current trends point at some sort of collapse.

Ahah, problem being that a foreign currency might expands its notoriety and value by being backed by the country in which it is. What about a foreign currency EVERYWHERE? Like what would be the point of EUR if you can't use it in Europe? Cause that's a bit what bitcoin is ^^

Hola abs350. So the JPY at 117 is the sign.  :o  All the world which is waiting this signal must act now because after one minute will be very late. But what to do to save ourselves? I think that the first thing that I will do will be to put my head under the bed. In this way at least the head will be safe forever. Then will take my hands and will put those in the locker. Being locked there no one can touch those. So even the hands are safe. Remain the body and the legs. At my home there are not more safe places. So must go to the neighbor. Maybe he, giving some Darkcoin (must be paid with something that have to do with Dark Age) can find some corner where to put at least my legs. He has a bigger home that mine. As about the body, for the moment, have no idea where to put. I will remain without sleep this night and maybe will find some solution. And after found with do another post here to help all the others.  ???
