Title: Re: [Suspicious link removed] Post by: malevolent on December 22, 2012, 02:25:44 AM It was probably a link to Silkroad, bitcointalk doesnt want to link to them (for obvious reasons).

Please buy bitcoins only from trusted people/websites! Now I would initiate a chargeback with paypal asap. Title: Re: [Suspicious link removed] Post by: Foxpup on December 22, 2012, 04:31:17 AM It was definitely a scam site. No legitimate site will accept PayPal for bitcoins, due to the risk of chargeback fraud. Also, how much did you pay? 8 bitcoins are currently worth about US$108, and the very few legitimate sellers who do accept PayPal will charge a hefty premium on top of that to make up for the chargeback risk. If you paid less than US$108 for your coins, you were certainly scammed (scammers frequently offer "discounts" to trick people into using them instead of reputable traders).
