Title: Miner for Litecoins
Post by: ImAsianGG on January 12, 2016, 05:54:51 AM
What miner is the best miner at mining Litecoins

I've checked CGMiner, GUI Scrypt miner, and Reaper but all of them were either missing download links or I just didn't understand how to set up.

Don't bother trying to mine Litecoin (or any other Scrypt coin) with anything but an ASIC.

GPU mining of Scrypt coins for a profit became impossible a couple years ago.

Right now, the most efficient Scrypt miner is the KnC Titan, but reliability on those units is VERY iffy in the long-term.
The Innosilicon A2 based units are fairly close on efficiency, along with the Alcheminer (and OEM varients), but the Innosilicon has a longer-term proven track record of reliability over the Alcheminer.

Things are going to change sometime in the next few months though, as 14/16nm tech arrives on the Litecoin front.

The above mentioned miners are all good with their own set of Pros. If you're serious into mining, then write a good miner that suits you the best and mine more with less energy utilization. There are developers here who mine coins with their own smart miners than the available one in open source. They have secrets to tweak the miners to outsmart in performance and mine more coins.

I use a calculator, sure it's slow but someday as the blockchain dies and difficulty drops because no new miners and obsolete miners die and are turned off from dying ltc, I'll solve a block, you'll see pencil, paper, and calculator are the future of scrypt mining.  8)
