Title: My next cooling system

this will be my next cooling system for my 4x S7.
built with panels covered with glass wool,
It will have a cold room that comes directly from a mini-refrigerator at - 16 ° C
of course is a test that I think I have to put in place later this month,

let's see if I can bring the noise a few db, and keep the miners constantly cold, about 38/42 ° C

Have you though about the total cost of this ''cooling system'', you also should count the electricity cost of freezer

Not sure what the point of the freezer is here, its just burning power that heats up your room to provide a small amount of dangerously cold intake. Your extraction system looks fine and will be better on its own.

OP, funny, that's exactly what I had in mind, what a deja-vu! :D

How do you plan to remove the cold air from the freezer, you open a hole in the freezer's door ???
And about condensation, isn't bad for the circuits?

the miners are placed vertically,
in the cold room will be created where a small difference in height will be coated with adhesive aluminum and eventually will be a hole for the exit of condensation water.
in practice the cooling chamber is separated from the room where are housed the miner.
a mini-refrigerator around 140 / 160W, already seen in some sites at a cost of 159 €

You're going to burn the freezer out. It's compressor isn't made to run like that.

Make video as well that looks nice . I would even consider  something like that , just to say i did it and see if it works.

they make what your looking for. its called an air-conditioner. Its designed for this.

He's right. A freezer is built to get cold and stay cold in a closed environment. It isn't meant to be a cooling system long term.

It has very little BTU capability, yeah it would burn out.

I have the same setup as OP in my sound proof box, but the intake is winter cold. Now there's no risk with blowing up that compressor :P

An evaporative cooler might work better than a freezer in your case, depending the area is not that humid.

I don't think S7 needs such low temperature to run, most people run them at ambient temp as long as heat is dissipated well. Evaporative cooler for summer would be easier and much cheaper to run.

That is funny, please do the math :)

1) all heat pumps (freezer, AC, whatever similar) has C.O.P. number which shows INput power vs OUTput heat. It means if you put 160W INput, it can transfer COP times more heat. Best air-source heat pumps can do about COP=4 (it depends on deltaT), so 160W can transfer 640W. 4x S7 is about 5.5kW. So far away.

2) freezer can reach -16C only because it removes heat from small thermally insulated closed box. It transfer heat from inside to outside.

3) room temperature will be 5.5kW + 160W freezer

4) YES, best solution is to use AC and make your room as closed box. AC will transfer heat from inside room to outside. You can also use AC to cool outside air and vent hot air out, but this needs more math.

The freezer is useless for this. As others have said they are made to reach a low temp in a very small volume with NO additional heat input to the system.

The math:
BTU/hr=Watts x 3.4129  so 1 miner @ 1,200w = 4, 095.5 BTU/hr
1 Tonne=12,000 BTU/hr, large A/C units are rated in Tonne

Bottom line is miners produce massive amounts of heat to be moved from point-a to point-b and typical air conditioners much less a refrigerator/freezer ain't gonna work ;)
