Title: Factom. Real deal?
Post by: bitcoinblessed on January 14, 2016, 03:59:10 PM
Anyone else get in on factom (FCT) ground floor? Nice to see this huge spike, and support seems to be increasing. Is this going to be a currency that sticks around? Or is it time to get prepared for the fall?

it could be, but in all State, bureaucracy is necessary for "establishment"

Did Factom have a ICO? Anyone know what was the ICO price or how much was raised?

We had a token sale.  50% were distributed in the token sale, 20% in a pre-token sale purchase, and 30% was spread across over 50 early contributors. No early contributor earned more than 3 percent of the total tokens distributed.

Funds collected in the token sale were managed by Konify.  Three development milestones were identified, and the funds from the token sale are released as third parties evaluate the development as having reached these milestones.  At this point in time, the first milestone has been complete, the deployment of the protocol.  Only 1/3 of the raise has been released.  A bit less than 500K total was raised in the token sale, which sold Factoids on a graduating scale starting at  ~10 cents and ending at  ~15 cents from April 2nd to May 15th.

In parallel with the launch of the protocol, we formed Factom Inc., a traditional US corporation.  This company is building applications using Factom.

Factom is a pretty good project, I like it and I have seen it grow since the beginning, that I have some of it holding or not is another story tho, I would rather have Madisafe than Factom.

I have no explanation about price swings concerning any cryptocurrency, including Factom.

The goal is to create a system that rewards and manages a distributed autonomous data layer for Bitcoin.  Factom is still a work in progress.
