Since Emercoin's partnership with Microsoft Azure's Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) there has been quite significant changes in the terms of price and marketcap of the same. In just a few days, the price went from $0.06 to $0.12 and now it is worth $0.30 per EMC

Do you think that the result of this price increase is just a matter of hype? Share your thoughts here.

I didn't know anything about a Microsoft partnership that probably explains the recent crazy price action.

The partnership is probably rather limited - Microsoft is working with a number of companies including ethereum/consensys and Ripple.

A pump based on some good but tepid news is my call. Goes back to usual in a few days is my guess, although I admit to having done zero review of the actual product.

I hope it does indeed. Because I am waiting for the price to go down a little bit and then buy some EMC. In my opinion, I think prices are a little expensive don't you think?  ::)

Pretty much every alt coin is all about the hype. What alt is actually used or useful currently?

In my opinion, Ethereum is a very useful alt coin when it comes to making decentralized applications and smart contract features. But still, Bitcoin will remain at the top in both price and market cap unless a true replacement comes in.  :)

I have also seen the price was gone up the last time.
I have decided to sell my EMC last monday for BTC.
Don't know if it will keep on going up.
The reason is i think a kind of deal they have with microsoft or so?

The thing is that Microsoft seems relatively agnostic here and they see this just like any other application. "Want to run Apache or Oracle or Ethereum on a Microsoft Azure VPS/cloud app infrastructure? Sure, we've got that."

Posting strings like "dns:google.com A=8.8.8.8" into blockchain is NOT a technical breakthrow.
And they run coin cartel meetings (300k+ EMC) at plain site.

Basically they're russians. Wanna invest in a coin with russian devs? Go burn your money it will save you much time.

The pump in price is a temporary one. It will go down eventually after a while. I can not say how much will it rise from the current price. I believe the Microsoft partnership have a little impact in the price rise. This is because they advertised such thing for many people. People buying emercoin at this buyer are truely buying because of the advertised speculation. However, emercoin is worth to be traded in a decent value against bitcoin.

I hope that is true because if it keeps rising, then I will miss the chance to buy EMC at cheap prices. It is still cheap, but I would like it to go down a little further to buy some. What is the differential of this coin? I mean, what improvements have been made to justify the purchase?

The only real improvement I see is the reduction of block size inflation. Other than that, it is pure hype I guess. Something that concerns me, is that why Microsoft chose Emercoin to make partnership while there are better coins like NXT?  ???

Interesting question, because I also see great potential in NXT.

It seems to be like Novacoin, a other coin from Eastern Europe.
Is there any proof for this? Do you have more information about this case?

Believe me, I have been looking for someone from the Emercoin community here as well but had no luck. Based on what I have seen on this coin, it all seems just hype to me unless they prove so otherwise. Emercoin is just based on Namecoin and Peercoin, so I guess there is not much to it except for the fact that they have presented a probable block size solution (see posts above)

I am waiting for real development to come for this coin, otherwise it will be just another pump and dump scam  ::)

To make this coin better, I think that it would need a web wallet for starting off, don't you think?

That is Microsoft,they do have a midas touch what ever they touch turns to gold ,there's no reason to call it hype from now they are now the coin to watch,will definitely include this coin to my list,since they are now partnering with Microsoft they are going to be huge..

I agree. I have downloaded the wallet and it looks like Feathercoin 2013. Just a Klon.
Zombiecoin or Europecoin looks much better.
And it's so silent. Every Shitcoin with 100'000 Market cap have more posts here than Emercoin does.

There is no altcoin that exists which has 10,000 regular users who not also investors.

Ethereum $400 million market cap for shit that doesn't scale and has no adoption.

Of course everything is about mining the speculators, because you all just chase scams all day.

The ethereum investors do not the trade the present but the future. It is like on the stock market.
Ethereum has a bright future if the devs could provide what they have promised. If they do then the (current) price is justifiable.

Every altcoin should just be named hypecoin, then later it will become dumpcoin.

It seems that there is an online wallet as well. Now that is some progress. I will just have to hold my EMC until something really big happens. Who knows? Maybe one day Microsoft would decide to own/buy Emercoin....don't you think?  ::)

What justify that is above the position of many good alts in market cap?
