are you sure?. we have has dodgey issues with dealers before - the biggest being Gox so whther not they have had coins stolen or its an inside job as some suggest it is just same day, differnt entity.

but the hearn thing is a bit more closer to home. its not whether or not what he is saying is true or whether he has private benefits to gain by all the gloomy talk - its that he is saying he is out. I am still new to bitcoin but it seems he has been a believer and working for bitcoin for some time so its  bit like a Patriots player leaving saying no chance of an NFL win or a Brazil player saying they cannot win the World Cup again.

Its unsettling. And I bet the price will not like it.  Get ready for some decent volitility as some sell all or partly and others rush in believing that has provided "cheap" coins

why it should matter what a dev is doing with his coin, for what we know even satoshi could have dumped some coins, does it matter? not even an inch

Sure, someone who was actively shilling/making things up/possibly paying others for shilling , for an altcoin, Bitcoin XT, has a major impact on Bitcoin if he leaves /sarcasm
Seriously though, he just got butthurt that his shitcoin couldn't get enough support even after so much shilling

bitcoin protocol is fine.  its shady exchanges that are doing the most harm at the moment. instead of being seen as a revolutionary new technology for liberating the people, it is getting the reputation of a way for hackers and scammers to take advantage of people.

I think Mike Hearn's blog is good because it brings the mess of bitcion core into the light, so we might get some better discussion on these issues.
