Title: Whats the Deal with Altcoins that Have a Market Cap under $1,000? Post by: ignitiondefect on January 16, 2016, 04:54:47 AM I see a bunch of coins on Coinmarketcap.com (http://coinmarketcap.com/3 (http://coinmarketcap.com/3)) that have market caps under $1,000. Many have websites associated with them, have some trading volume, and are traded on exchanges. Instead of starting my own altcoin, should I just buy up 90% of one of these altcoins? I don't get how they can be worth so little?

So you'd be wasting your money.
