This depends on the filtering rules that nodes use.

Nothing. If the transactions are indeed spam, then transactions with proper fees and adequate priority will process just fine.

12-13k tx pending is nothing... back in October 2015 we had over 80k tx waiting in the mempool for 3 weeks straight.

What if they're not spam, but legitimate transactions?

lol lots of transactions are sitting in mempool and it seems like antpool is not pulling its weight with a history of low amounts of transactions per block

I just want to see the effect of a rising min relay fee. How expensive is enough to stop people from using bitcoin? For rich people moves thousands of coins, even 1 btc fee is nothing, so they will not be affected. If average people is moving 0.1 btc, then 0.001 btc would still be ok (1% fee), that's still almost 10x higher than current fee

Any particular reason for the stress tests? Is it related to the block-size debate?

Seems like some entity is trying to boost the blocks are small argument.

Maybe the Bitcoin Classic cartel who's using the strengh to make us see that our current blocksize isn't enough...

Everything is fine, 1MB block size is more than enough for current usage, in the future, when necessary we will scale bitcoin, there's plenty of time. Let's make another #ScalingBitcoin conference because consensus.

I smell a rat.... Could it be someone or a group of people trying to artificially bump the transactions and filling the blocks to prepare for Bitcoin Classic? Nobody has warned

of a stress test, so let's see how long they can keep this up. The last stress test cost a shitload of money and it did not last long before everything returned to normal.

Just imagine everyone pushing for 2mb Block sizes and it happening ....THEN once it's done, everything goes back to normal and we cannot even fill a quarter of these blocks.

Oh well more of these are expected to happen. Someone must have been doing a stress test cause the charts indicate a sharp bump and drop in transactions which is very obvious. I think blockchain.info was showing up 9000 + unconfirmed transactions, but I believe this isn't on of those worst stress tests.

Yeah, nothing.  Except nodes begin to crash.  Resulting in the very centralization that was feared by some if we moved to larger block sizes.
