Title: Time is slowing down
Post by: illWill on December 26, 2012, 11:12:22 PM
It's a well know fact, that because of all the oil being extracted the Earth is ceasing on its axis.

When the oil is gone the Earth stops spinning.

If I could extract stupidity from forum posts, fill it in bottles and find a buyer, I'd be sitting on a gold mine right here.

You're right! The forum has been a bit boring for the past few days.

Don't worry, the holidays are nearly over  ;D

Matter isn't created nor destroyed, so unless the mass equivalent to all the oil extracted has left the gravitational pull of the Earth, its weight has not changed, ergo time is still relatively the same.

Scientists have long believed the Earth’s rotation is slowing. It’s estimated that three billion years ago, a day zipped by in about 13 hours, while now one full rotation of the Earth on its axis takes 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4.091 seconds.

What oil deprivation has to do with this I am not entirely sure.

Oh, I thought you were joking.  ???

The moon is responsible for slowing the rotation of the earth, oil has nothing to do with it.

He's quoting from this old WWN article: http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/15077/earths-rotation-slowing/

You ARE aware that WWN was a satire magazine, right?

Ha-ha, that reminds me of a satire newspaper we used to get in the UK;

How can it be that I had an immediate rush of headache when reading OP?

Your brain is going through a galactic awakening. Picture the space time grid with nothing in it, no mass, no gravity attraction. Place a large body of mass, ie a planet A, in the grid. This mass warps the space time grid causing slopes and stretches in the grid. When another body approaches proximity to this, call it planet B, it is affected by the warping of space time in form of attndraction to planet A. This is gravity.

This so-called "headache" is merely caused by your lack of faith in TimeCube!

It seems earth require greasing effect for spinning, how far it is true only scientist along with God can tell.

(When the oil is gone the Earth stops spinning.)
