I just launched a new website a few days ago at:
www.bittrivia.com (http://www.bittrivia.com).

You can compete against other players answering trivia questions.

After you make an account (quick and anonymous), you can send bitcoin to the btc address shown under your name to deposit money to the site. Or you can play a few rounds without bidding to see how it works. During the guessing phase, try to answer the question as fast as you can - either from trivia knowledge or from being able to google quickly. If you're the first person to correctly answer it, you win up to how much you bid from each of the other players. It is also possible to win if you didn't answer it first, if there is still money left over in the pot, and you bid higher than the first person.

The way it works is similar to poker with side pots. If the first person to correctly answer bid 0.01 BTC, they are entitled to up to 0.01 BTC from each player. If the second place person bid 0.02 BTC and there is money still left in the pot, they can get bitcoin up to the amount they bid from each player - and so on down the line. Money left over in the pot is returned to the players that bid it.

After you are done playing, you can cashout to any bitcoin address. Cashouts are instantaneous so long as there is at least one confirmation on your deposit.

I just want to say -

I love this site. Great execution, simple and fast, no hiccups and excellent gameplay. Solid piece of original software. The owner is very responsive and the crowd banter is fun. I lost something like 8 BTC the other night to a good opponent, but I can't seem to stay away from it - this is my favorite Bitcoin site of the year, bar none. If you want to test your wits, I've been on there most nights for the last week under the alias "chevy".

Giving this a bump as it'd be nice to play with some more people :-). Good way to lose (and sometimes earn!) coins learning new things.

Gotta say, I agree with everything ssaCEO said.  Very well put together, and dead simple sign-up; also very nice of the site owner to provide you with 2 mBTC of credit to get you started.  The site will also give you a prize of 0.001 mBTC in the free-play / low stakes room if you're playing by yourself and you get a question right.  Very clever to encode the questions as a base64 PNG.  ;D

Any plans for adding the input of an email address for account recovery if a password is lost?  Any ETA on the private rooms / tournament rooms features?

They've been down for a bit revamping the site I assume. Should be doubly better when it comes back. :)
