Title: Selling Saffron Post by: expert4knowledge on January 21, 2016, 10:03:14 PM Hello, I am offering a service for selling Saffron. It has may characteristics such help to overcome depression. It makes people more happy and good spice for foods.
This is saffron for the guys who do not know it: http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0207/8590/products/saffron_thread.jpg?v=1446589371 It is extracted from the following flower: https://pixabay.com/static/uploads/photo/2014/04/15/21/07/saffron-325205_960_720.jpg It can also be used to improve the appearance of food and makes it more delicious: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e7/Grain_saffron_rice.jpg/640px-Grain_saffron_rice.jpg The price depends on the value that you ask. now for values more than 100 grams it is 4$ gram and for small amounts it is 5$ per gram, for example shipping costs to India is about 19$ for 4.5 grams and for most of European countries it is 20$. For bigger values for example 1 kg it is 300$ for European countries and a bit less for India. If we want to send more than 1 kg for extra kilograms, shipping cost is 100$, so for example if we want to send 1kg to Italy costs, considering the 4$/gram, it is=(cost of saffron+shipping cost)=(1000*4$+300$)=4300$ although 1kg is very big amount for this Gold plant. Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: expert4knowledge on January 21, 2016, 10:38:57 PM Price, quantity, quality, shipping? Is it organic? Where is it sourced from? Where are you shipping from? Pictures? Thanks :) Price depends on the quantity. It is originated from Iran and for sure since I am connected with producers you can ensure from quality. It is completely pure and if you need some standards I can guarantee it. Prices depend on quantity since shipping and other costs depend on it. Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: erre on January 21, 2016, 10:43:38 PM From where are you shipping? Giving saffron high per-kilo price, expedition cost should be roughly the same for dire rent quantities. Is it whole or powdered? How much for a gram or two?
Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: Arcteryx on January 21, 2016, 10:47:29 PM Would this not be considered a food when it sent to other countries and confiscated by border patrols at immigration crossing as such?
Maybe listing as spice is different but you ever see those shows on tv about airport authorties? They do checks at mailing port too for this. It is whole but can be powdered, although we prefer extracted from flower. The price strongly depends on where we want to sell it.Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: expert4knowledge on January 21, 2016, 11:17:57 PM Would this not be considered a food when it sent to other countries and confiscated by border patrols at immigration crossing as such? Saffron seems to have some antidepressants effect via serotonin modulation it's true, but it's costly, and no more effective than unexpensive ssri's like prozac. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4643654/ But I like it in the risotto :) .... so, how much for 2 grams shipped to Italy? Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: legendster on January 22, 2016, 07:02:25 AM Send me a quote for 5 kilo.
Shipped to India. Hoogly port or land delivery to pin code 700056 I'd like a sample of 10gm couriered to me. I ll pay. If I like the samples I ll put up 20% payment upfront and rest on successful delivery. Delivery should match sample quality and you MUST allow for inspection before payment. Or 100% escrow. I'll bear shipping charge, you bear escrow charges if used. I wont respond back here so send me a PM only if interested. However the shipment company used might be a problem as I have had many of my international small packages lost / stolen before. Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: Indianacoin on February 03, 2016, 02:27:01 PM Wow bro what a coincidence! I am having Biryani while I noticed this thread! :)
Such an awesome incentive of selling a product which is very much costly nowadays. I am quite interested in buying 1Kg of saffron but first I want you to deliver me a sample of the Iranian saffron so that I can compare its flavour with our Kashmiri type. If it feels quite appealing I will surely buy more and more from you. Let me know if you are agreeing with my proposition :) For those who do not know what is saffron and how it is extracted here is a small trivia for them: Saffron is a plant. The stigmas (male reproductory part of the flower) are dried and are used to make saffron spice like the first picture shown in op. It can take 75,000 saffron blossoms to produce a single pound of saffron spice. It is largely cultivated and harvested by hand. Due to the amount of labor involved in harvesting, saffron is considered one of the world's most expensive spices. Saffron is largely known to cure Alzheimer’s disease (within 22 weeks), depression, premenstrual symptoms and menstrual discomfort. Although there are some side effects of consuming more saffron than the critical amount like dry mouth, low BP, allergies, dizziness etc. but we should look more on its nutritional values: http://i64.tinypic.com/2uf7mkl.png (source: Wikipedia) Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: erre on February 03, 2016, 04:38:03 PM " Cure alzheimer In 22 weeks" ... Apart from its medicinal value this is used mainly as a spice to add wonderful flavors in some recipes. https://i.imgur.com/oRZ0JcR.jpg It was opened by the custom but seems that it's still intact. Seems that sending saffron is OK for both Iranian and Italian custom (and I think it should be the same in all eu). Actually it's at my parent's home (i'm never at home so I deliver packages to their address), I told them to try some and let me know how it is. I will report their feedback, and give mine asap. Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: expert4knowledge on February 26, 2016, 07:08:55 PM I am really happy that it finally arrived to desired destination and Customs check did not make any problem. I hope you enjoy it by using appropriate recipes.

Are you also trading this or do you have plantation/direct seller? How much does it costs being ship to Philippines? Title: Re: Selling Saffron Post by: expert4knowledge on February 28, 2016, 05:56:17 AM For 5 grams price is 23$ and shipping cost is 16$. The price of safron may change a bit under changing price of dollar to iranian currency. I like this ingredients but it seems very expensive.
