Title: Connecticut Assault Weapons Legislation
Post by: Lethn on December 29, 2012, 01:23:40 AM
If this website is to be believed, it turns out there may have already been quite strong ( in my view at least ) Assault Weapons Control in Connecticut since 1993, I don't know why I didn't google this sooner but the .gov website is at the top of the list right now, someone seems to have been doing research of their own.

Assault Weapons Legislation:

http://www.cga.ct.gov/2012/rpt/2012-R-0362.htm

Some things here interest me a great deal for those that can't be bothered reading it all

. Possessing an assault weapon - Up to 5 years in prison

. Distributing, transporting, keeping, offering for sale, or giving an assault weapon - Up to 10 years in prison

. Buying a firearm intending to transfer it to someone he of she knows or has reason to believe is prohibited from purchasing the firearm - Up to 5 years in prison

. Person prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm soliciting, employing, or assisting someone to engage in an illegal firearm transfer - Up to 6 months in prison

. Using, threatening to use, displaying, or purporting to have an assault weapon while committing a class A, B, or C felony - Up to 8 years in prison

Definition of Assault Weapon

The act designated as an assault weapon:

1. any of a list of named firearms;

2. selective-fire firearms capable of fully automatic, semi-automatic, or burst fire at the option of the user; and

3. parts either designed or intended to convert a firearm into an assault weapon or from which an assault weapon may be rapidly assembled if they are in one person's possession.

The act exempted permanently inoperable firearms.

Just stating what the facts seem to be, a lawyer will definitely have to check this kind of thing out though but I doubt anyone will because this is more about politics than fact checking.

Now I really want to know where the mother was in the law. Where all of her guns pre-1993?

Huh? Adam's mother was a loon that denied her own son proper psychological therapy and care, she was one of those "Obama's islamic gomunism" types.

His dad is mr moneybags and ownes, whayt, like 25% of G.E. Financial?

And last but not least, even a mentally perturbed/austistic guy could kill those kids with pinpoint accuracy after being dragged to shoot 'muh guns' at a range.

I suspect another mass shooting soon.

It's sad but from personal experience I'm not at all surprised these shootings happen, schools are a shitty place to be in when you're a child, well for most people anyway.
