Title: grtthegreat Potential Dispute
Post by: leancuisine-temp on January 23, 2016, 11:48:12 PM
This is leancuisine. I took out a 0.20 BTC loan from grtthegreat about a week ago, and the loan isn't due until tomorrow (24th) so I haven't repaid it yet.

However, "grtthegreat" suddenly closed and locked the thread, saying that all loans have been repaid, which is an outright lie. I have already sent a PM to him. He has also removed the signature saying that the account is under collateral with him, and he started posting with my account.

I also haven't received any PM's from him. What can I do about this?

Here is his thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1222331.0

Date Of Repayment: January 20, 2016

From what I take your loan was due 3 (almost 4) days ago.
You wanted to repay on 24th first, but since he doesn't grant any loans with durations over 1 week, in your second post, you clearly state the 20th as repayment date.

Oh wow. I thought it was due on the 24th... that was a huge mistake that I made. But why didn't he at least post in the thread or send a PM? He knew my temp account.

I see on the thread that he extended it to the 23rd, which is today, so the loan is still active. Could I just repay him and get my account back then?

Proof or it didn't happen.
Should I post a signed message from my BTC addresses?

You seem to have a problem remembering dates, its 24 today

It's 23rd where my forum places its clock, although its 11:59pm
I don't even see grtthegreat posting the 23rd anywhere. All his posts say 20th.
You probably should contact him directly, and get to an agreement with him before he sells of your collateral other than starting a "dispute thread".

To me that looks like it may be already sold..

Maybe PM your account and see if you can buy it back from the guy...
Well, there your chance goes.

Highly doubt it, I don't see the point of returning something that was legitimately purchased and likelihood of this individual returning a Hero-Account that was sold when you offered it as collateral if you didn't pay back the loan. You made an honest mistake and I don't think you will receive that account back. You agreed to the loan terms and unfortunately, your collateral was sold due to your error of the repayment date.

I didn't mean give, I meant make him an offer..
What's it really worth to ya? He may sell it back for a healthy profit, I would..

Money talks..

Where I am (Canada) its still the 23rd.

Oh what a mess I've made... I've sent my account a new PM.  :-\

It's really hard to reply when you're limited to one every 6 minutes. I also see that my account was sold for 0.25 BTC, so just a little over the loan amount.

You seem to be misunderstanding something, that was no loan extension.

It's the date he sold your account. Just check the "In txid".

Ugh, 3 years on this account all to be lost for a loan. I've PM'ed both of them, thanks everyone for your help.

No, the date of repayment was on 20th January.

However, "grtthegreat" suddenly closed and locked the thread, saying that all loans have been repaid, which is an outright lie. I have already sent a PM to him. He has also removed the signature saying that the account is under collateral with him, and he started posting with my account.

No, it isn't a lie. I sold it only after you failed to repay the loan by the due date.

I haven't used your account at all. It has been sold by me to someone else and he is using the account now, not me. I do not use any account except this, not even the accounts I receive as collateral. I only sell them once the loan gets defaulted.

I also haven't received any PM's from him. What can I do about this?

What PM did you expect from me? A request (or a beg) to repay my money back? Isn't it your responsibility to be careful?

And you didn't knew that the loan was to be repaid by 20th? I made a small mistake there on my lending thread and you even corrected it. Buddy, you seriously got a bad memory.

This is to confirm that the account "leancuisine" is under control of "grtthegreat" now for collateral purposes till 20th December 2015.
This account will be used by me for communication purposes. I also believe that the repayment date is on January 20th, not December. ;)

Yes, you are right. That date was striked out and written as 23rd because it was the date your account was sold. I wrote that there only for public record.

Hope this clarifies everything.

Confirmed, you on your part made a foolish mistake, you didn't follow the stated terms as posted and Unfortunately, you will probably never receive your account back.

I agree. He should have at least contacted me by 20th to stop me from selling his account. You should recheck things no matter how sure you are.

That's what happens when you try to build rep, you get fucked and don't bullshit me because I'm sure that's why you got the loan, your excuse of Reason: Trading is not going to deceive me.

Grtthegreat was well within his rights to sell your account, and he has no obligation to notify you of anything. I would suggest contacting the new owner and offering him more than he paid for it. Maybe you will get lucky and he will sell it back to you. Other than that I think you are S.O.L. buddy. I do think you handled this well by not throwing accusations around and stomping your feet. I give you props for that at least. If you need a middleman to buy your account back I would be glad to help free of charge. Good luck.

OK everyone here's the situation. I purchased the @leancuisine account for my Wife from Grtthegreat on a loan default, it's hers at the moment and it took me forever to find her a hero/legendary account with a username she'd accept. So it's NOT about the BTC here, it's about finding a similar account that my Wife will accept as a replacement. I want to do right by the previous owner, but don't want to take this account from my Wife either without being able to give her something comparable. :-( So I'm kind of in a jam here folks, any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. At least the account is in good & honest hands until we can get the issue resolved. If anyone HAS or knows of an account that could be a good replacement? Please let me know. I'm going to do a quick look through the marketplace as well. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have no idea why you would think this would just be a 'rep loan'. I've been using the BTC to trade on FXOpen, after converting it to PerfectMoney (only 0.5% fees), and managed to make the $92 loan into $123. And then this happened.
