Title: Britcoin Post by: xavier on June 08, 2011, 07:46:53 AM What happened to Britcoin? Is the exchange still online? Or did it get taken down?

Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: nickwit on June 08, 2011, 08:43:10 AM Looks down from here as well. It was working about an hour ago.
Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: realnowhereman on June 08, 2011, 08:55:08 AM traceroute shows a route right to it, but then nothing from the server itself.
Looks like it's dropped off the Internet rather than been overloaded. Perhaps it's gone over its monthly bandwidth allowance? Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: teff on June 08, 2011, 08:57:37 AM Its redirecting to a dodgy holding page and the registration information was just updated today. I would say either the domain was sold or hijacked
Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: gigitrix on June 08, 2011, 09:01:34 AM Oh oh. Looks like domain expiry :'/
Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: realnowhereman on June 08, 2011, 09:02:44 AM Does anyone have the IP address cached from yesterday?

Also, the mininum transaction level will be siginifantly lowered in a matter of minutes. The bids will be matching imminently as well.
We will be daily processing withdaws and deposits from now on. Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: genjix on June 12, 2011, 12:07:52 AM Please do not send Bitcoins to the old address. It is making the accounting more difficult.
As of this post, we have now responded to every email now. As for how the trades are processed. It is exchange at the price that you put in and then worked backwards. It is not the most ideal or efficient manner but it is still fair and there are no funds missing. This is something we will be changing soon however. Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: Man From The Future on June 12, 2011, 12:09:32 AM "DO NOT SEND TO THE OLD ADDRESS"
... Registrant info changed, domain acting weirdly... taken over/hacked? (overly paranoid?) Title: Re: Britcoin Post by: genjix on June 12, 2011, 12:18:54 AM http://www.bitcoin.org/genjix.gpg
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Everything is fine, but using the old address is making accounting difficult for us since we migrated the servers. The domain went down because of the ownership transfer mechanism which you can read more about in the main Britcoin thread. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJN9AXGAAoJEH8nvZxjT+xn9BUH+wfCP72pIEGHtY+A8yXLOY8m FxbUTHQL2MyJjiLt1pCNQFIoZcS7huBgQV5jbbjyDEYSWaA26mDoXSh339OQ9dma EAsL6zBxc7IgBW9Qil/dBnEWe4A/Jl3JzZg6wLhYsmnaCWUhnbTrduRdK/9YulSV w4zAlNoXmvjONhZ4V+oKzsDJHSxn773JuTlBNJ9YStSCpEBCHMuGI/hJ9Seek9Oy 1hnYjKP9XlrI3A9h0DF0rPIP6xeE4cWIcekv/ocnG5BAxJgCvp6RDSjrjC9ao2N1 OT3YALqDTrG+TzBOOsgBE0RIAxib3w8DRsyTSvxn1dy+gwhNscoUbf35GzoN+SY= =SoIk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
