A part, a piece of bitcoin. we call bitcoin, if just a small amout we call it satoshi. Got it ?Title: Re: What are satoshi ? Post by: baazju on January 24, 2016, 03:57:17 PM The way I think of it is just like I would with a dollar. If 1 Bitcoin is similar to 1 dollar, than a satoshi is like a penny. Except a satoshi is a much much smaller fraction of a Bitcoin than a penny is to a dollar.
So a penny is 0.01 of a dollar. And a satoshi is 0.00000001 of a bitcoin. That is about all there is to it. So if you want to know how much a satoshi is worth in dollars than just use this: Current Price of Bitcoin in Dollars * 0.00000001 = Value of a Satoshi In Dollars Pretty simple stuff.
