Oops sorry. Does this not earn him a scammer tag, even though it was only 0.5BTC it's still a scam right? Title: Re: .5 BTC LOAN Post by: 21after2 on January 04, 2013, 01:01:50 AM It should earn him a scammer tag. Mods may not have noticed it yet. Or maybe they're not bothering since it seems like he created the account and ran off shortly after.

Or maybe they're not bothering since it seems like he created the account and ran off shortly after. Alright I was just wondering why on earth they had't. But between the fact of the $7 scam, and the fact he hasn't logged in since placing the trade and all that makes since. Title: Re: .5 BTC LOAN Post by: RyNinDaCleM on January 04, 2013, 02:10:39 AM I wasn't going to create a big stink over $7! If it were a large loan, that would be a different story. That said, if a mod wanted to give out a tag, that's up to them, and I wouldn't be heartbroken if they did. After all, he is the one who screwed up the tx, and if it wasn't meant to be a scam initially (and just not paying because HE didn't receive the BTC.5) I really hope he learned his lesson about the care necessary when sending/receiving Bitcoin (Fast/non-reversable/unforgiving). I knew the risk, but figured for $7, I would give the benefit of the doubt and try to help.
In my post with the terms, I linked the Blockchain link to my address so everyone could check up on the standing of the loan. I figured this would put a little more pressure on him to repay since it was all in the open to back my case. Sort of a public receipt in case of dispute. I also hope others take away from this, the idea to quote all relevant info regarding a transaction for their own cases should they arise. ;) Title: Re: .5 BTC LOAN Post by: jwzguy on January 04, 2013, 02:20:27 AM I wasn't going to create a big stink over $7! Title: Re: .5 BTC LOAN Post by: thefiniteidea on January 04, 2013, 02:40:28 AM Yeah, I read both those statements. Why would you assume he was telling the truth? He didn't pay you back, right? Because some people are actually decent human beings. I for one respect RyNinDaCleM's attitude, scam or not. None of this would have gotten started if everyone hoarded their coins, remember that. No, he did not! It absolutely could have been a line from the start. But looking at the address he gave me (on BC.info), there are a TON of very small transactions that that BTC0.5 moved out of that address in, so it looks to me like a faucet service address. I'm only speculating on that though. It could have been a sockpuppet, Who knows? Title: Re: .5 BTC LOAN Post by: jwzguy on January 04, 2013, 02:45:15 AM Yeah, I read both those statements. In fact, in the PM conversation, I explicitly told him to notify me ASAP if the bank was still closed and he couldn't get the verification taken care of by the time he said. It was New Years eve, so I wasn't sure of bank hours. Title: Re: .5 BTC LOAN Post by: thefiniteidea on January 04, 2013, 03:23:20 AM Yeah, I read both those statements.
