Profit takers are still enjoying the high-lo game of bitcoin price so I guess, it will just play along on that area until a news will cause a breakout either upwards or downwards. It has been like this for the past few days so I guess one way or another it will get out of the $395-$405 area.

I think that now the only thing that is going to make the price of Bitcoin rise, is Halving. What else will effect the price of Bitcoin?

Are we going stay at $400 for a long time?

Of course No, the price Now is trapped between the support point of 350 and the resistance point of 400 , so wait and watch where the price will go.
remember at the end of 2015 the price were stuck between 430 : 435 then when the holidays ended, it started moving in a dramatic way

But it has been stuck at this price for quite some time now. I am getting a little worried. Hopefully it goes up soon.

About a year ago we were still stuck at around $280 and then the price finally went up. These things happen all the time. The price has gone up significantly in just one year and we're going to see it rise even higher throughout the year of 2016.

In the unlikely event that the price stays at $400 for a long time (which I guess we could say a few months) then just wait for the next Bitcoin reward halving. That is a surefire way to boost the price to new highs.

If you just bought now, I highly recommend not selling.

I think what everyone has expected (huge price pump) before july this year now has to start from this point like last november. We can hope to see same thing and price getting doubled. ;)

not for long, but i guess it is going to last for while (maybe a couple of weeks) but the closer we get to halving the higher the chance that everything is going to change and the price start to go up again.

i am fairly sure that the price will reach $500 within 2 months. if it doesn't and we stay around $400 for a longer time, then i won't mind it as i like stability. for now i think the chance to come close to $500 are greater than us staying around $400.

probably this is like the old 200, yes for some months i think, up to spring maybe, then another shy pump to broke 500 will happen

i can see the same shit(same playing) in the range of 600-700

I think the evnt that will pump the price will be the halving. There may be other news that will rise or drop the price, but with effect of the halving it will go beyon 450-500$.

I think two more increase in difficulty on the level of 8-12% and we will see price around 500USD per BTC

Well, what is your definition of a long time? It seems like $390's - $400 is the new $220's - $230  which we seemed to be in for some time.

It's hard to imagine that the halving won't cause a significant increase in price. Decreased supply with no change or an increase in demand means price goes up right? Right? So unless there's something which causes a huge decrease in demand and/or a big dump/sell off...

I think not. Value is always changing.
It may remain as 400 but in a longer term however it will change.

Some good news and halving would determine the next price rise for Bitcoin. Maybe 400 is a good stable point at the moment, cause it's averaging about $390-$410, but staying here for a long time can't be really said.

Don't think so..if you can keep track of the prices throughput the day,you would see it crosses the $400 rate couple of times. But yeah the average value is $397+.Since its fluctuating so much, don't think its going to stay there for long.

Still no reply from the dev team regarding the current crisis and technical issues...

I don't see the price going up as long as development is dead...

Are we going stay at $400 for a long time?

That's depends from what is your meaning of the long time. If for you is not long time six-seven months then that price may not remain in that value for a long time. There exist big probabilities that the price of bitcoins goes up after July. Cause: the halving. Less bitcoin in the market in the same time compared to today and the next six months theoretically must increase not few the price of bitcoin. At least this explain the theory of demand/supply. Then if for you this period is a long time then no one can tell you for how much time (before this time) bitcoin will be at this price. Because bitcoin act only according to his head and hearing only its mind. And I don't know no one which a close friend of it in order to learn more about their actions. ;)

I think the floor for now is sitting at $380. If we go through that price level I think we might test $350 the comming days, if not sooner. There simply isn't much support to hold the price around the $400 level.

I don't expect a significant price rise to be honest. Whatever you may think of the block size issue it could have boosted the price and could have sped up BTC adoption rate if it had been solved already. I know there are some competing options for scalability, but price could have shot up if the community had gotten round to implementing just one of them, even as a temporary measure. None of that happened.

Even for summer, there is nothing but a psychological factor and perhaps a coming media hype to support a price increase. It will take at least 6 months for the halving effect to really kick in. Until then, we will see the same millions of Bitcoins on the market as before halving. Supply won't change overnight. Demand could if the community and devs can send a signal out that Bitcoin is ready for the future. Until that day, same old same old.

For a long time the growth of bitcoin price is found to be low and has reached to a maximum of 424$ over the last week. Everytime it is getting stable within the range 370$ to 390$. At times its getting increased upto 403$. I too believe the same as question indicates we are gonna stay at $400 for a long time

Can you explain about what makes you think that we'll stay between $385-$410 for quite a long time? I can't see this happen as we will go through some high volatile months where you can expect several +$50 price swings within a few days in the runup to the block halving.

First must be defined what must be understand with the amount of "down". Could be named down 5 us dollar and can be named down 100 us dollar. If with down will be understand the first amount have no meaning to discuss about up and down. Bitcoin have no problem to go or move even 30-40 us dollar within a day. And then stabilized in almost the same price or 5-10 us dollar up or down the primary level (in which was before the movement). Anyhow I think that it will not go down after one or two week and even more. I don't see reason why it must go down. The overall trend of its price for one year was the stability or the increase (the result of movements). So don't see why must change this trend.

I personally think the bottom is getting ready to fall out on BTC.  Tons of altcoins are shooting up, showing that people are getting less faithful by the minute.  We've stabilized for the second, but the block size drama continues..

Probably not, the whales are still within the bitcoin camp so should we. These backers have deep pockets to manipulate the market and make false price increase making other to think that the next price increases will be the way towards the next bitcoin halving and that will bring in more funds from the consumers who want to ride that wave created by the whales.

Possibly to such a question the answer is YES, we are going to stay over the 400$ range for a long time. There is no drastic variation in the price over these days. This will make the value more stable and get settled within 395$ to 405$ for long time, even few weeks can be expected

In few days, we are going even lower, ~$355-365. And then prepare for the worst case scenario. $300-320 seems very possible, but i will tell you when we hit $350.

I prefer bull run, but things are not going everytime in a good way. ;)

It doesn't look like bitcoin can stay at $400 for long. It keeps going up and back down a bit.
Hopefully next month will be better.
I think that OP means staying around $400 for quite some time. Not exactly $400.

Understand what OP was talking about. Of course bitcoin won't stay at a $400 exactly for some time.
Up and around $400.

yeah it looks like we will be long enough to be on stable prices between $375- $430 before halving occurs and the price could rise to $700

probably this is like the old 200, yes for some months i think, up to spring maybe, then another shy pump to broke 500 will happen

i can see the same shit(same playing) in the range of 600-700
I think not. Value is always changing.
It may remain as 400 but in a longer term however it will change.

well not exaclty 400, but around that value, i still beliebe we are playing the market in the same we did in the 2xx range, but with different numbers

you can see it clearly, how we need the same tiem to broke a mental barrier and how the pump are slow and steady

i guess the price will stay until people will not decide on whether they want to have core of classic, then the price will most probably rise

$420 has become a very strong resistance and $380 seems to be a good support, and $400 is the middle floor...
So basically, if we don't see some reason-less pumps, we will surely have it stable ~ to $400 for longer time, at least unless halving happens...

I too believe that we'll be in the tag of 400$ - 420$ for a long time. I don't think
we are gonna hit 700$ even after halving takes place

No I do not think so anyway. Everything will change. And if the price but on one level remains sale and no one sells it.
I think people just go buy it now because it is in fact now has a low price.

eventhough the price is what we consider to be fairly low, some people still don't have the balls to buy themself some coins at these price levels. they will always start with buying when the price is going up. nothing wrong with that, but they miss out on so much profit because they buy at semi high prices. for some reason they see a rising price as some form of confirmation that the market is due for an investment. for me it's the opposite. i see a rising price as a great moment to secure some profits.

I think the month of February is now, bitcoin prices will rise to $ 400 and above, and probably will last at the price of $ 400, but it was uncertain because the current price of normal bitcoin in the price of $ 350 and above

No I think it will its only for a month or so, after this month it will rise to a higher market amount. It will take some time but the bitcoin will rise soon to a higher amount than the 400 dollar price. We will see whats gonna happen with the bitcoin in a few months also.

Bitcoin hasn't been moving much and has been rather quiet these last couple of weeks.
The price will rise when more people are buying, maybe some are just waiting for a much more of a decrease before buying.

I was kind of used to price within 390-410$, I do not like too much oscillation with price

when the price is about to be stagnant, i expect a pump near or far from now, whitout considering the halving that should drive up the price

I do expect some action in the markets this week pushing the price closer to $400 again, but after that it will probably come down again to around $380 as we have seen happening plenty of times already. We need to be 1 or 2 months away from the block halving to see some positive effect on the price.

No I do not think the price will remain clear. The price is always changing.
The economy influences the fact. When the economy is bad Bitcoin is also poor.

But I think it's time that Bitcoin is going to rise and I hope that so I can sell it for profit.
