By bigger exchanges, I meant Huobi and Okcoin.

I would not be shocked if this happens but will not put much faith in the rumor until we know its source.

It could go up some more due to the fact that more people get access in buying ETH.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a dump at the end of the road though.  Then a stage where price stagnates.  After that the cycle restarts again...  Or not.

Yeah.  I will not even put faith in it entirely until I see ETH actually listed.

Made this thread out of curiosity on what the people on these boards think...  Imagine if Augur was up we could create prediction markets based on these speculations.

I would like to hear your comments about this.

Might want to post links to where this rumor originates. I'll read those and comment.

I really can't post any links.  It's just hearsay in our group's private chat.

Your private group started this rumour?

Your private group started this rumour?

Nope, it was casually talked about, because there was already a rumor.  We didn't start it and we are taking it with a grain of salt.  I started this thread to see how the people here would take it.  And if you think it could be plausible or not.

Already a rumour; but, no links? Sounds like a total fabrication then. Your group is wise not to take it seriously.

As I said, we are taking it with a grain of salt.  It was hearsay from one Chinese member.  I just thought it might be interesting to find out what the people on these boards would think.  If it was plausible or not...

Pretty much guaranteed to happen sooner or later. 17K BTC 24 hour volume on poloniex right now and roughly 10x LTC's volume as tabulated by coinmarketcap. That's too much business for any exchange to avoid chasing.

Thing is - that move didn't work out so well for darkcoin (who was the exchange that added it?).

I'm an Ethereum optimist but short term if I was an exchange I think it would still be a wait and see ... seems too early.

If you had even 1/8th of this volume for a month then yeah.  I'm convinced this HAS to be the old bitcoin people seeking an alternative for bitcoin due to the infighting and lack of progress.

What does the exchange care? They get fees for a while while it is hot, and if they end up delisting it, then they do.

I agree that extreme churn is annoying for everyone but I doubt ETH trading is going to head toward comatose very soon. I could be wrong though.

Ehhh I agree to an extent.  I always felt adding coins that didn't last as a sign of a non premium / secure exchange (I feel safer with bitcoin in coinbase than Polo & I felt safer at Polo than Cryptsy).  A reputation type thing?  Still convinced that the issues surrounding bitcoin are the drivers for this massive volume - not Ethereum innovation otherwise we would have seen a lot more volume before now.

*Grumbles* Even bitcoinwisdom hasn't added it yet.

BTW ... how do we get invited to this private group chat :P

LTC on Gox next week :)?
There are some nice profit in ETH trading, why the Chinese would want to stay away? Actually I'm surprised because of ETH still isn't there. Anyway, ETH on a big Chinese exchange will be an interesting and wild ride :).

They are big pumpers so as dumpers if they want to so I wouldn't be too excited about it.
