Post by: btccashacc on January 01, 2013, 08:39:33 PM
I need to know if this is a legit site or if it is indeed a scam site.

From my conversations with the owner of that site on Skype, he appears legit. But I have not tried his service so I cannot verify it that way.

We have been verified by a Hero Member on the site. Also working with another transaction now and will soon be verified. If you are interested in doing business but are on the paranoid side we offer Escrow to guarantee a smooth transaction.

Hope to do business with you soon,

From reading your website, my understanding is I can go to Walmart, buy any type of giftcard, give you the code, and receive BTC for it (less the 15%(?) fee)? If I'm understanding this right, I will be using you in the near future.

Let us know if you have any other questions we will be happy to help in anyway possible.

Why does your site feature no real adress of your "company"?

Why is your domain registered through a proxy registrar?

What is a Buisness as referenced in your tagline "Thank you for your Buisness!"?

Why do you call BTC4Amazon "a group of people" when it is you and a guy who may help out from time to time?

Why is none of your forms encrypted in any way?

Why does your site have no identity verification?

Why is your site hosted on Vistaprint?

I'll take that bet.  How much?
Let me know the terms and the amount.  How about 100 BTC and you win 2:1 if he gets a scammer tag in the next 60 days?

(PS I know him personally and he could have already scammed me out of $800 and didn't so I am pretty sure I will win.)

I've had some pretty in depth conversations with him about anything under the sun, I couldn't see him trying to scam anyone. I know how he got interested in this field. It just wouldn't benefit him to scam anyone when he knows he can make a good business with his site.

Seeing as you're one of the good guys and seem to know him personally, any chance you'll take him under your wings and help him set this up so as not to raise every single flag that indicates "scam site"?

I sent his some tips but he is his own person I don't want to tell him how to run his operation.  Some of the things I recommended may have actually caused a red flag.  I told him no need to form a business entity until you are sure there is enough money to make it worthwhile.  I advised him to hide his whois until he has a business address or PO Box.  I wouldn't give most people my home address either.  Give him a couple months I figure he will either be be looking professional or left the bitcoin scene (without scamming anyone).

As far as the website (SSL, improved host, etc) I agree with those points but I don't think that makes it a scam though.    Lots of people do business only on this forum and it doesn't make them any less legit.  CPC has a pretty fancy looking site and it is pretty much guaranteed a scam.

As stated by D&T no P.O Box is set up yet

Why is your domain registered through a proxy registrar?
I was instructed the ebst bet was to hide the whois for now. Will release in a little while when business has shown profitable enough to procure P.O Box Etc.

What is a Buisness as referenced in your tagline "Thank you for your Buisness!"?
This refers to those who have entrusted us to do "Business" with them.

Why do you call BTC4Amazon "a group of people" when it is you and a guy who may help out from time to time?
This is the way I sign things, I'm sorry if this opposes you in some way.

Why is none of your forms encrypted in any way?
Not quite positive what you are looking for here, We offer PGP encryption, or if you are referring to our site we have not had the time or the money to implement higher security but if you do not trust our current options please use this forum to contact me and I will be more than happy to help.

Why does your site have no identity verification?
We offer a quick and clean service without the need to get detailed personal information if this creates a problem we will change it at that time.

Why is your site hosted on Vistaprint?

Our site is not hosted on Vistprint ???

Any more questions I would love to answer to clear it all up for everyone

Technically he's hosted by webs.com.

BTC4Amazon, the parent company of webs.com is indeed vistaprint. I have known that company since well before they switched owners and names.

Sorry, I was informed by a pal of mine that Vista Print is a parent company to my host. So, yes the website is hosted by "vistaprint" does that make it any less real than one that isn't?

Is there a risk Amazon is going to sue you over the name? Or you just don't care?
