Title: got a quick math(?) question. Post by: Jhanzo on January 28, 2016, 10:52:41 PM first off. sorry if this sounds stupid. :P
say I have to choose between three options with coin flipping, but can only flip the coin 2 times. first flip between option #1 (heads) and #2 (tails) and the second one between #3 (tails) and whichever option that was picked in the first flip (heads). which option gets a better chance of getting picked? Title: Re: got a quick math(?) question. Post by: xompkins on January 29, 2016, 07:25:54 AM I'm not sure about that . Its so frustrating ,btw I'm really poor in math ;D

Title: Re: got a quick math(?) question. Post by: Scamalert on January 29, 2016, 08:11:33 PM nobody here got the brain for this? The question is not really math, it is more statistics. I think the problem is that you have not explained the problem you want to solve well enough. The setup is a little unclear, are you flipping the coin 2 times. I assume you have to the option before the flip. First flip is fairly simple (if I have understood it correct), you can pick heads or tail. Then is it unclear: second one between #3 (tails) and whichever option that was picked in the first flip (heads). You need to elaborate this....... ... .... Title: Re: got a quick math(?) question. Post by: Jhanzo on January 29, 2016, 08:37:09 PM second one between #3 (tails) and whichever option that was picked in the first flip (heads). You need to elaborate this....... ... .... I thought it was clear enough... if the result is tails, I choose option #3. if the result is heads, I choose the option that got picked on the first flip. if I flip the coin twice and the result is HT, I'll choose option #3 if it's HH, I'll choose option #1 if it's TH, I'll choose option #2 if it's TT, I'll choose option #3 .............hey... I just got the answer. ;D problem solved! lol that was easy. I'm feeling dumb now. Title: Re: got a quick math(?) question. Usually do you want to calculate the probability for different outcomes. Perhaps this is more of a logical problem... ? ... Title: Re: got a quick math(?) question. Post by: MrGodMan on January 30, 2016, 08:30:30 PM May be its a logical question. but really I am poor in math lol.
